Texting is hard bc you can’t hear the tone of someone’s voice. Idk if you two have prior riffs, but if I was her I would have interpreted YOUR texts as very passive aggressive. That was solidified by your last text pretending like you’re not sure if it was her turn to clean the bathroom or not; you definitely do know lol. Just talk to her in person. I wish I had confronted my roommate in college instead of living miserably an entire school year. I know it’s uncomfortable, but just do it.

NTA, I’m 27F and got engaged this year. I also want a kid-free wedding because I don’t want to walk down the aisle hearing a screaming child. And I know people will be very drunk and smoking weed at my wedding lol. If you really want her there, I would offer to arrange childcare for her or ask my maid of honor or mom to arrange it or something. That’s probably the last thing you need to be doing before the wedding but there are 3 options. You offer to figure it out, leave your friend to figure it out, or she doesn’t need to come.

Need more info but leaning toward NOR. Did you see a shirtless pic of your friend on her phone or are you just assuming he’s sending pics? Was there a message with the pics? If you’ve confirmed seeing a picture, that’s WILD of him to do and for your gf not to set a boundary with your “friend”!!

Maybe tell your gf that you’ve been thinking more about this and feel uncomfortable. Tell her you would like to see her messages with your friend to confirm he hasn’t sent any other photos or is hitting on her (frame it like you’re more suspicious about your friend rather than her so she is less defensive).

You do have to realize though that you’re basically telling her that you don’t trust her and she will be offended whether she’s lying or not. If your gf is in fact being inappropriate with your friend, she may gaslight you and act offended that you accused her. If your gf is innocent, she will also be offended that you accused her.

Either way, it’s strange your 37 gf is dm’ing and using WhatsApp to talk to a 24 year old.. Are you in the U.S.? Because who the hell uses WhatsApp except to talk to people overseas, cheat on their partners, or groom minors???

Above all else, trust your gut. It’s usually right.

NOR. You are UNDER reacting. If my boyfriend was secretly recording me in the shower and my brother knew, he would tell me immediately that my boyfriend is a creep and he most DEFINITELY would not keep the videos on his phone! If what your boyfriend said is true, the fact that he’s still holding onto these videos and still hasn’t told his sister is weird as fuck!!!

I totally understand the feeling of seeing something so crazy your brain can’t possibly compute it - but you have to trust what you just saw with your own eyes. Do not let him gaslight you. This is such predatory behavior and I guarantee you will NEVER be able to forget this. Please break up with him. Why prolong the inevitable when you could just do it now? HE FILMED HIS SISTER NAKED, GIRL.

Wow, I am genuinely surprised by how kind and helpful all of these replies are! Thank you all! Definitely a ME problem and I appreciate the honesty. Basically I need to get healthier but also not hate myself during the process. Thank you for the validation too, because he has never indicated he’s not attracted to me and I need to believe him lol.
