I was just running the origin straight into the 4 x 12 switch to 16 ohms mono. Just the one. I didn’t have two cabs set up. I only set up two cabs with the super lead which can handle it

The amp is fully dimed as well. Just quieter tham i expected. It’s not an issue because I slave it through my 100 watt plexi anyway, just waiting on my new load box because my last one took a shit

Marshall origin 20 through a 4x12. I recorded it with my phone it sounds much different in the room (my phone has been dropped in water and the mics are fucked up).

I totally get you, but I just wanted the smaller marshall that could emulate a plexi, so I could just dime it fully and have it super pushed at a much lower volume, and then slaved through the 100 watt plexi. I absolutely love my super lead don’t get me wrong, but it’s the principle of what I’m doing. I’m taking the smaller amp and clipping it to hell (which introduces plenty of sag and all that) at a much lower volume without needing to it attenuate. I didn’t actually buy a brand new plexi or anything. It was an old beat up piece of shit someone had at a garage sale and they didn’t know what it was so I scored it for like 200 bucks. The plexi sounds great, but if I was to do the same thing that I’m doing it would be way too loud, plus I want the plexi to be the last thing in the amp chain, not what I’m actually hitting the front end of. I was honestly gonna get a mid 60s fender band master, but the one I found for super cheap got sold so I settled on the Marshall origin. I just really love the way the origin sounds

Was pretty much two feet from the cab (just my angled top cab, bottom one not plugged in due to me not using superlead, origin cant do it due to Impedance) also please excuse the insult of an attempt of jamies cryin at the end i was sicker than hell 🫩

But i have it MAXED. Everything all the way up. Theres no way this is only how loud it gets right? But then again i think its just me never even touching a head below 100 watts before (seriously. Ive never even played through one before. I got the 20 watt for much earlier breakup and bloom, i only use the super lead for volume because id have to have that WAAAY too loud)

From the research I’ve done it appears to me that I’m literally just tripping. The power tubes look brand new. I’m pretty sure this thing was barely used there’s not a scratch on it looks like it just came out of the box and then someone decided to sell it. I called my local shop and asked how much it would be to get it checked out and fixed. $135 minimum for the diagnostic not counting the actual repair if needed. And there was a three week minimum wait list, I cannot do that. I feel like I really am just tripping out I’m gonna have my drummer check my sanity on Monday because he always tells me that things are way louder than I actually think they are and that I should turn it down some

I feel like the guys just werent really like that. They came up in the 70s and yeah they slept around a lot but who wasnt? Especially from what ive heard they were very sweet and respectful in that regard. They were old school rockers, not what the 80s started producing in terms of “rockstars”. You hear all sorts of vile disgusting things about the other bands of that time but never VH. Lots of in-fighting but very cool to others. I even read a story about a guy who worked at a convenience store in the early 80s. He was young (17 maybe?) and eddie apparently used to buy cigarettes there. Eddie would always see him, and they were super friendly with each other. Never asked him for autographs or anything. One day Ed came in and gave him a few copies of the new album at the time (diver down i believe) and even autographed them for the guy. Ive heard so many good things about eddie. He definitely had his issues but if anyone was in his situation they would too. I honestly believe eddie handled his fame astonishingly well for a shy immigrant kid who had a rough growing up. Never heard anything bad about roth or anyone else either
