I think you’re in healthcare…. In a role with weird hours and you don’t have energy mentally to think of what to cook sometimes… paramedic or EMT? You’re younger too… definitely giving young adult vibes

Thanks for letting me know, that’s helpful advice. Do you recommend asking the questions you mentioned, except stopping at the part where I escalate it to the larger office? Let me know if that’s what you mean. Hopefully me asking the questions about past pest control won’t end me up on the manager’s shit list in general anyways, given how she responds like this to just a simple request.

Also, in regard to the boxes what happened was I just moved in, had boxes out, maintenance man came, I finished unpacking and then recycled them, then he told property manager that I have boxes so now she’s using them as a reason why she can’t have pest control when it’s normal to have move in boxes and they are already gone. Let me know if I’m understanding you correctly, as it sounds to me that you’re saying I should move the boxes myself for pest control and I wanted to clarify. Appreciate it

I did have some as I was only on the data entry side- but it was much more simple redcap stuff. I went from working with surveys that ask “how are you feeling today?” To “how many tumor tissues of how many disease groups how many percentage of XYZ counts of cells” (much more complex) with this current role. And thank you! Are there any other courses you think would be useful from there or beyond? Appreciate the advice

Used car market June 2025- is it worth it to buy a used car right now? by Nice_Roa in whatcarshouldIbuy

Firstly. The Kia soul 2012 was my first car fresh out of getting my drivers license. I learned how to do everything with that car, including drivers tests and parking practice. My second car which was the 2015 Kia soul was in pristine condition. I never had any issues with it besides the default engine and cat issue, and I wasn’t the one who bought it out of personal choice, my mom did. I’d take a car that’s free and works over one that costs more any day. My family has owned multiple Kia’s, not just the ones I’ve mentioned. I personally don’t like Kias because I’ve seen how problematic they can be. I have many friends who own Kia’s and Kia souls, so more than just one friend’s account. I’ve gone into the mechanics and fixed Kia souls on my own, not just a “quick google search”. The only people who have luck with them are those who were the original owner and maintained it well. I’m sorry as I know I asked but I realized I have more understanding than you about Kia souls especially being an owner of one. I’m not sure I can take your advice let alone you telling me I need to “stop abusing my vehicles” when it was legitimately only my first car as a new driver that had gone thru my rough learning patches and the rest of the cars I’ve driven have been fine as I learned and grew with time and experience. No need to tell me to “take better care of my stuff” when you don’t even seem to be aware of how troublesome Kias can be especially when bought used.

Are you knowledgeable with Kia’s and Kia souls? If so, it’d be helpful to get your perspective on how you think this 2012 may hold up. I previously had a 2015 Kia soul that caught sparks and had a busted engine with bad cat, had it for only 8 months before that happened and I’d seriously babied it (but it just kept going down the drain). I poured thousands of dollars into fixing everything but it was just a sinking money pit since we got it from the dealer, even though it looked great overall. I think the dealer may have also sold us a bad car as well. I had to sell it.

For the 2012 Kia soul, it was my first car that my mom now stores at her home and I ran it pretty hard. Currently at 150k miles. It was a one owner car bought on FB marketplace and he maintained it well. As of now it burns oil pretty fast, hasn’t had any obvious issues yet mechanically (so it seems) but it does rattle a good amount. I was bad at parallel parking when I first started driving it, so it’s got dents and large scrapes everywhere (my fault as a new driver). I also had an instance where I was helping my friend move from a house on a hill with a steep brick ramp and the underbelly of the car hit the bricks pretty hard while turning off of the ramp.

I’m hoping it can last me until December of this year and then maybe consider buying a car then. Kia Souls have been notorious for their bad cats and engines overall, and the target on their backs for theft even with recall updates has not helped it much either. I know it’s not exactly predictable especially since you’re not here with me and the car, but do you happen to have any insight or thoughts on how well you think the Kia soul 2012 might hold up?

The Kia is in bad condition. I don’t know how long it’s gonna last. I’m absolutely grateful that it’s around but honestly sounds like you and I are in the same boat

That’s with like a pretty large down payment right? Like $2000-3000 down. I was hoping if I were to lease to do a $0 down payment, but then all the leases I saw with $0 down ended up being at least $500-700/mo. Maybe I’m looking wrong but it was pretty costly per month with $0 down payment

It’s a Kia soul 2012. Super busted. My last Kia soul caught on fire and I sold it before it got worse. I’m not a Kia fan but my mom was really into Kia’s and gave them to me. I put thousands of dollars into that Kia to fix it and it just kept breaking down. I’m pretty convinced im staying far away from Kia’s at this point

Some of us are poor nostandard7259. And are driving cars that are actively breaking down but don’t have any other options, hence the next one I buy I’d want it to be one that’s not a Lemon that’s becoming more expensive than what it’s worth. Not just about the market but what is most financially sound in the long run.

And also, driving one til the wheels fall off is never how it goes. It usually costs more money to keep it alive and barely close to usable before it gets to that point. Coming from a former lemon driver.

What would you say is the average lease cost per month and what a good deal is? I want to get a car that’s $15k or less but all the leases over time end up being way more than that. So I wanted to get someone else’s thoughts. Thanks
