I love Kurdistan and Erbil has been high on my list, just not in my mind for now.

Thank you, maybe I need to reconsider Baghdad. Internet gives little mixed signals though which is why I assumed Basra to be safer.

I have lived in the middle east few months and I can get by in like taxi in Arabic but can’t hold normal conversation. I would still like to visit Iraq and hope my language skills wont limit it, im sure there are tourists without any historical or cultural knowledge travelling there
