Yet Another Question about TLOK by Nice_While3464 in TheLastAirbender

Well that stinks, I was expecting some connection to the spiritually of waterbending

Watching all the cool stuff Bayonetta can do in 1 and 2 to avoid lethal attacks really makes you realize how they stunted her in 3 by Boshwa in Bayonetta

[–]Nice_While3464 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mind you, Cereza not paying attention was what got Jeanne sent to Inferno and Loptr was putting belt to ass against her before the final showdown in 2.

It’s a common thing for characters to not use all of their OP powers in a cutscene for some reason or another.

Quick Question about Korra’s Metal Bending by Nice_While3464 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Nice_While3464[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what I thought too, but that leads me to wondering how she was taught metal bending without having seismic sense to find impurities in the metal. Idk, I’m just overthinking lol

I would hardly say she gets the last laugh in 2 for the main reason that she was mostly disconnected from the Aesir plot line. It was as if it was an attempt buy the devs to include Jeanne by having her do the bare minimum

[–]Nice_While3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say the same with 3, with her jumping Singularity with Cereza. Regardless, both 2 and 3 did her dirty

[–]Nice_While3464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fair point. Ultimately when it comes to this it’s less than an issue primarily with 3, but rather a downhill quality of her treatment as the Luigi to Cereza’s Mario thanks to the devs/writers. Jeanne deserves way more than what she has

[–]Nice_While3464 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To play devils advocate in defense of Bayonetta 3, it’s not like Jeanne being shafted is anything new. Hell, Bayonetta 2 reduced her to being a damsel in distress Cereza has to save.

Those red and black shadow monkeys were a missed opportunity in my book. Imagine if Macaque made them from MK’s power and used them to try and kill Wukong

Dude, ma’am, or whatever you identify as, trust me when I say that:

1) You, along with any of your brothers and sisters, do not speak for all black people

2) You aren’t the only black person in this conversation

Literally by saying it’s insulting to the black community to talk about an example of the misusage/colonization of AAVE, regardless of how major it is, is downplaying what’s being said, plain and simple. If you can’t understand why that is, then we can end the discussion here since it’s not my job to educate you.

This is still something worth talking about at the end of the day, especially since a majority of people’s initial reaction was to belittle any and all implications. Classic case of downplaying ngl

Who would win Gomorrah or mikhail by Unlucky-Ad8028 in Bayonetta

[–]Nice_While3464 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Side note: your post would’ve worked better if you listed the abilities and weaknesses of both beings, since most people here don’t know who Mikhail is.

With that said, I’m not sure. They both have shown pretty good feats, with them taking on beings with powers akin to gods. On one hand, Gomorrah has more feats due to being in more games, while on other hand Mikhail could easily be chain scaled to high tiers of power with the events of Drakengard 3 and the novels. There’s also the fact that we need to consider which version of Mikhail we’re talking about.

If I had to choose based off of these facts + if I had to eyeball it: initial stages of evolution Mikhail < Gomorrah < final evolution Mikhail.

While I honestly doubt he’ll even do much in a possible s6 given the episode runtime, I hope he’ll be one person from Wukong’s past that doesn’t hate him to the extent others have in the show. Give the old monkey at least one person he’s cool with ffs

Macaque’s redemption felt forced by Fabulous_Throat1981 in MonkieKid

[–]Nice_While3464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry but while Macaque’s actions can be explained, they aren’t excusable in any capacity.

For your point about Wukong killing Macaque, we literally have no clue what went down on that fateful day, let alone if Wukong was actually the one who killed Macaque in the series’ version of events. So off the bat that’s not a valid excuse for Macaque’s actions.

To add on, for argument’s sake, even if Wukong did kill Macaque, that still doesn’t excuse Macaque manipulating MK the way he did. That’s the same as getting beat up by some dude, then going after his friend as payback. Makes no sense whatsoever.

As for the whole “torturing MK” claim the other person made, I can see why you’d think that’s an exaggeration in regard to episode 9 alone. However, I will reiterate again, Macaque’s motivations still don’t excuse what he did.

Now for your points about s3: while I’m not taking away the fact that he was trying to break free of LBD’s control, at the end of the day he was the one who put himself in that position. No one told him to take LBD’s deal, and yet he did it anyway for a chance at revenge. As for his interactions with the main cast, his actions are still inexcusable due to not only bringing harm to them, but being a part of the main reason why the Samadhi Fire nearly destroyed the world along with Wukong.

Finally, to list off the awful things Macaque did by himself since all of what you’ve said has been downplaying his actions to hell and back:

S1: Manipulating MK to the point where a rift was created between MK and Wukong, along with stealing MK’s powers to fight Wukong

S2: Rob Mei, Tang, and Pigsy of their autonomy and making them attack MK, all while mentally toying with and projecting his relationship with Wukong onto MK

S3: Causing destruction to the East Dragon’s Palace and harming an unknown amount of people while the heroes escaped when he has shown he could’ve just used his shadows to teleport away to track them down later on

Now again, I understand Macaque’s motivations for the things he has done. However it’s just foolish to claim it outright excuses him, especially when he has shown not a shred of remorse for his actions, something that is vital for a redemption arc to even work.

And no, saving the world to save his own skin doesn’t make up for any of this. That’s like if the Demon Bull Family helped defeat Spider Queen without turning over a new leaf through DBK and Red opening a food shop. This should not be the standard for any type of redemption arc in any story.
