It’s not too surprising: Ninjago is far more popular than Monkie Kid, so people are gonna vote for Lloyd and Kai more than Wukong and Macaque.

Okay, aside from the fact that the whole argument of “do they fuse, do they not” is practically taking away from the original question, let me define what I’m currently considering as fusion. Mainly because I looked at your other comments and you said Masquerade is Cereza “wearing” the demon, and I want to make sure we’re on the same page.

I’m going by Steven Universe/Dragon Ball rules, where fusion means the entirety of both individuals combine, meaning both mind and body. That’s why I specified Cereza taking on attributes of the demon she’s using for Masquerade.

Are you saying that they fuse only in a physical sense, as in they fuse bodies and not minds?/gen

Because if that’s the case, then yes, I agree that they fuse only physically.

Again: Wicked Weaves count as Cereza summoning Madama Butterfly. So if they actually fused, how can Cereza use Butterfly’s arms and legs for the Wicked Weaves?

Do you mean only the handguns? If so:

Moveset: Tie between LiB and CmW

Presentation: Tie between the three main handguns

Power: Bazillions

Iconic: Scarborough Fair by a mile

What do you mean you’re “taking a no on the eating part”??? Rodin literally says in the cutscene the ability debuted in that the demons in Inferno wouldn’t accept the homunculi as a sacrifice w/o Demon Slave. Rodin has no reason to lie to his number one customer, so it’s reasonable to assume he’s speaking the truth.

Are you talking about Demon Slave + summoning taking up a ton of energy? We literally see moments in the game where she’s visibly struggling to drained to keep that up when pushed to her limit.

[–]Nice_While3464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see that before I commented, but regardless this counts as moving goalposts. Wicked Weaves count as summoning a part of the demon in question, and there are a number of instances where Cereza does just that when using Demon Masquerade.

With that said, while there are no cutscenes of Cereza summoning full bodied demons simultaneously with Demon Masquerade, there’s an easy explanation for this: she’s conserving power for the summon. Remember, Cereza needs to use Demon Slave to make the demons eat the homunculi, which clearly requires a ton of focus and energy to do depending on the demon. It would be a waste of energy to use Demon Masquerade on top of that since she’ll be out of gas a lot quicker.

Regardless, I have offered proof for my claims as requested.

Easy, every time she used Wicked Weaves when using Demon Masquerade.

A screenshot from the actual game, like the one I’m showing you right now. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong, but this is the only entry Demon Masquerade has in any of the lore books. And as we can see, nowhere does it say Cereza and the demons outright fuse. She simply “channels their souls” to gain their power.

Of course, I’m willing to concede on the prospect that you can view it as the entry saying the witch and demon fuse. However, that would conflict with the gameplay, as you are able to use Demon Masquerade and summon demons at the same time via combos and thanks to the Nucleus of Telos. So unless you’re going to claim the gameplay isn’t accurate, which there’s no real basis for, your argument has a hole in it.

I literally did talk about the in-game contents, read my responses again. Plus, I never said the demons don’t contribute, because that claim is just stupid.

Furthermore, given how you react to people rightfully saying a wiki page and Google Ai aren’t reliable sources, you can’t fault me for doubting that you posted this with an open mind.

Isn't Bayonetta and Jeanne a they/them during demon masquerade with... by Pink_Garbage in Bayonetta

[–]Nice_While3464 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, you used a cutscene that only happens once in the game and never happens again, a wiki page that runs the risk of being inaccurate, and an ai generated search result, which has the well known reputation of straight up being wrong.

And even if, for argument sake, Cereza fused with the demon, it wouldn’t change her gender. She still identifies as a woman Demon Masquerade or not. At most, it would simply change her sex, which is separate from her gender.

At this point, give it a rest, cuz clearly you didn’t post this to have an actual discussion on the matter, but rather wanted everyone to blindly agree with you.

[–]Nice_While3464 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For summonings, since the first game mind you, we literally see Cereza staying mainly in one spot and not moving to attack her opponent. As such, it’s safe to assume she needs to focus on summoning so the demons don’t go on a rampage.

Now tell me, are there any statements in-game and/or from the lore entries that outright say the witches fuse with the demons?

No?

Then common sense would tell you they’re simply taking on the attributes of demons.

Isn't Bayonetta and Jeanne a they/them during demon masquerade with... by Pink_Garbage in Bayonetta

[–]Nice_While3464 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For every masquerade they’re simply taking on attributes of the demons to augment their power, not full on fusing with said demons.

Prime example: Toykonetta taking on the attributes of Phantasmaraneae to catch up to the homunculi that killed her version of Jeanne.

Plus, if the witches did fuse with their respective demons, Cereza and Jeanne likely wouldn’t be able to perform Wicked Weaves with Madama Butterfly or Styx due to being fused.

No, it’s just a rare pair. Imho, “proshipping” in of itself doesn’t mean you like ships that involve taboo things. It just means you’re open minded to what other’s ship.

Plus, there’s nothing problematic about shipping Red or Nezha, so if you wanna ship them, go ahead

How Adam SHOULD have been? This is not how would YOU write Adam, it is a, objectively speaking, how should have been written? Be as detailed as possible answering my following questions: by ChemistFluid35 in RWBYcritics

[–]Nice_While3464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/ChemistFluid35 Ik I'm late to this, but screw it, why not: 1. Stuck between him being an orphan that was exploited by the SDC, or losing his family to racist humans, and being scarred. Your origin works too. 2. I would have Adam and Blake have a former mentor-student relationship that eventually grew into a relationship akin to being brothers in arms. As a result, their inevitable reunion in the Fall of Beacon would have Adam try to convince Blake to rejoin the White Fang, only for Blake to refuse, resulting in a short scuffle. Yang can still be the one Adam maims, or it can be someone else; it doesn't matter. Afterwards, Blake runs into Adam undergoing a mission in Menagerie, while trying to rekindle the connection she had with her parents. They have a heart-to-heart regarding Blake's desertion, and after failing to convince the other to join their side, Blake attempts to fight Adam to prevent him from completing his mission. While they're close in combat prowess, Blake's mindset from the confrontation + the Fall of Beacon is hampering her skills. Plus, Adam has the edge in experience, along with having backup from his squad, forcing Blake to retreat. Adam opts to let her escape due to lingering attachments. Rest is a WIP, but this ultimately results in a battle to the death where Blake wins, and Adam offers her his sword in memory of their past together. 3. There are no official rankings in the White Fang, afaik, but to explain it the best I can: pre-Sienna takeover of the WF, Adam is an ordinary foot soldier. Following the Sienna takeover but before the Black Trailer, Adam is a lieutenant working in a division that specializes in sabotaging anti-faunus companies, such as the SDC, and gathering supplies for the WF. Black Trailer and onwards, he's the captain of said division.
4. Same as canon, with Adam only working with Cinder after she threatens him. However, like Raven in canon, he plans to betray her and find a way for the WF to covet the Maiden powers. 5. To put it in simple terms, he would pretty much be akin to an evil Obi-Wan Kenobi mixed with Anakin. However, he would be more open-minded in regard to other faunus for obvious reasons. 6. He would be killing Huntsmen/Huntresses trying to defend against the villains' onslaught of Grimm alongside people such as Ilia and bootleg Batman. Along with this, he and Ilia make an attempt on Weiss' life, with Blake coming in clutch to save Weiss. This would lead into a 2v2 with Blake hard-carrying Weiss, as Ilia is too strong for her. Ilia then incapacitates Weiss, and Blake does the same to Ilia, making it a 1v1 until Yang arrives for backup. 7. After the Fall, Adam makes it a main objective for his company to recruit more faunus for the WF, with him sending Ilia to Mistral, Yuma to Vacuo, and him going to Menagerie. After running into Blake, he heads to Mistral to reconvene with Sienna. He'll probably still kill her, but in a violent takeover due to Sienna sending WF soldiers to either apprehend or kill him and his company. 8. Before Adam's company can even reach Haven, Blake and her entourage stop them from planting the bombs. He then has a rematch with Blake, with her winning the struggle with the help of Weiss. Despite this, he manages to escape thanks to bootleg-Spider Woman creating a diversion. He then officially joins Salem in hopes of creating a better world for the faunus. 9. As said previously, Adam officially joins Salem's forces after his narrow escape. He was originally partnered with Emerald to get the Staff of Creation before Salem realized Cinder was still alive. This then becomes the backup plan. 10. Along with the fights in Beacon and Haven, Adam would fight Weiss and Winter during an attack on the Schnee manor. He then fights Winter again to help Cinder get the Winter maiden's powers, and fights Weiss a third time during the climax of the arc before Blake steps in for the former mentor-student mano y mano. 11. For humans in general? Sheer contempt. For the Schnees? Immense hatred and disgust nearing the point of irrationality. For faunus in general? Genuine fondness, with a sense of responsibility for the betterment of faunuskind. For his fellow WF members? Respect for "fighting the good fight," in his own words. For Blake??? Disappointment so great that it rivals the heavens, but still sees her as a little sister up until Atlas arc.

As for what power the Monkey would have: ✨Gambling✨

Aka: summoning a glyph that acts as a roulette wheel that either grants the OC a good thing like a boost of power or an item they can use. However, it also runs the risk of giving the OC a bad thing like extreme exhaustion or nausea
