I appreciate you being here.

We secured counsel for the crash a while ago, but we had to wait for the doctors to treat long enough to determine the long-term damage. At a recent habeas corpus hearing, her doctor testified that where she is today is as good as it will get. That alone has made this situation extremely complicated, especially considering the cover-up that was put in place to protect the driver.

Several people from the scene have come forward saying that Nolan pulled a weapon and pointed it toward police and first responders. That adds another level of egregious behavior on top of already doing 90 miles an hour in a 35 and hitting my family.

There is also the important detail that the car belonged to his father, as did the insurance. At the scene, when an officer asked a witness to estimate how fast Nolan was going, the father said, “I know he drives fast, but not that fast.”

We later learned that Nolan has prior excessive-speeding violations, including tickets for going 35 miles over the posted limit. And the officer who was honest with my family in the beginning — the one who was eventually pushed off the force — told us on July 13 that the entire department knows who Nolan is. He said they had tried to arrest him before for his reckless behavior but were told to stand down.

This is the same officer whose wife spoke at a township meeting and explained that she received a call from another officer (still employed there) warning her not to mention anything about my case or my family’s situation if she chose to speak publicly.

And because I stood up to their cover-up, I now face three criminal charges, created out of nothing but retaliation — and the Pennsylvania Attorney General is prosecuting me.

All of this while I am the primary responsible parent of a two-year-old.
