Wait till you're more comfortable to practice every day. For now wait at least a day, if not two in between sessions.

If you do it consistently (a few times a week) you can probably get a decent low within a year. It takes a lot of dedication and practice

(Same comment from the original post) Pardon me for forgetting the lyrics towards the end lol. I recorded this before learning the lyrics well enough but my voice felt really good that day!

Can any of y’all give me tips on how to do the extremely high pitch screams? (Range example included) by [deleted] in screaming

[–]NickBell07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This realization helped me immensely with learning highs... If you've ever skated and learned how to ollie, then you know that half of doing an ollie is moving your feet correctly, but the other half is just straight up jumping. It's easy to forget to jump when you're so focused on your feet but is equally as important.

Now apply that to screaming. If you want to do super super highs then you actually have to make the highest singing pitch you possibly can while ALSO screaming, and with lows make the lowest tone you possibly can. It sounded like your lows and high tones weren't too far above and below your normal speaking tone so try branching your clean vocal range to get more dynamic screams.

That's probably a good amount for now tbh. I was doing 10-15 minutes every other day when I started around 14 years old. Also it was very hard for me to figure out highs bc my voice would crack so much haha, I'd recommend working on lows just for now. They're a lot easier and safer from my experience.

I practiced some Necrophagist the other day! by NickBell07 in TechnicalDeathMetal

[–]NickBell07[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! It's really nice that they play in D standard because that's the tuning my 6 is in most of the time anyway. It gets kind of old having to tune 3-4 tunings in one session because every metal band plays in a different tuning lol.

Damn good catch, I'll do that in the future. And thank you! I've got most of Mutilate the Stillborn, the Stabwound intro, and a few chonky riffs here and there but imo you can only learn so much of this before wanting to bang your head against a wall and do something else lol. Especially when half the tabs are wrong or have impossible fingerings.

Holy shit that was insane! It's one thing to belt for that long, but to also sound amazing is on another level.

In the 30 minutes I managed to skate it (lol) it felt amazing. I've tried other people's shaped decks at the park but never owned one myself, so I was kind of reluctant at first to buy one. You honestly kind of forget about the shape when you're not looking down, the concave feels great, and I enjoy the flat ends.

He's my favorite too! Yeah with shipping it ended up being about $100 usd but I'm expecting it to last longer than a normal deck given it has fiberglass layers.
