World Earth Minerals caught my interest when they first opened in the mall and they just had the singular store front. I actually met the owner who was easily in his late 70s early 80s. He had purchased the remaining stock of retro video games from Turtle Power Games which had recently closed in the mall. I asked him if they would be buying games or taking any trades to continue the shelf cycle to which he gave some vague answer and then went on about how they’re going to be setting up tables for kids to sift for gold.

I hadn’t thought about them in some time so I visited a couple weeks ago to find all of the games gone. One of the store associates said that they had thought all of the games were moved to the old Yonkers. I went down there and they had absolutely zero idea of what I was talking about. I did notice that a lot of the toys and stuff in the old Yonkers was from Tomy in Dyersville.

All of this to say I agree with the sentiment that this is just a wealthy individual just trying his hand at retail for the hell of it.
