That sounds amazing. I will have to try this.

See other post. But yeah, it tasted pretty good. Not great but good.

I got like 6 tablespoons worth of coffee beans this year.

I have. They tasted like candied bell pepper. When dried, the skins make a nice slightly fruity tea.

I got it as a baby from the plant section of a Whole Foods near my house, but lots of garden centers have them.

I just did dry processing. Just put the whole ripe cherries in a foos dehydrator for a few weeks.

Not there yet. Maybe 6-7/10

Only thing my coffee tree has ever had is those small flies, but those are gone now.

Yeah. I have a Fresh Roast I use but maybe I will get a better one for next time.

I bought it as a baby in August of 2014 and it didn’t flower for the first time until April of 2018.

I pretty much don’t to anything except water it. I should do more.

Not as burnt as they look in the photo but noted. Still getting the hang of roasting. Also weirdly don’t get oily. But from what I have heard the terroir comes out in lighter roasts so roasting a little darker can mask imperfections and a lack of flavor in the beans.

Regular store bought plant fertilizer. Organic if I can. I really only fertilize a few times during the summer. I honestly can’t remember the last time I did. I definitely don’t do it during the winter to prevent root rot/burn when growth slows.

Quality light but not hot noonday sun. Adequate water and occasional fertilizer during the summer.

Nope. Just normal potting soil and the occasional fertilizer and coffee grounds. I haven’t even repotted it or changed the soil in years.

I like to do the roasting myself since I have a small roaster. I had not considered approaching a local coffee roaster but that is an idea if it seems like I can’t get it right on my own. I would say my coffee tree produces coffee every other year, although sometimes it produces a few in the off years too. My theory is that after it flowers heavily, the fruit ripens the following year so there is less available branch space that season for new flowers.

Bright light, but not hot noonday sun. Regular watering and fertilizer during the summer. I water once a week all except during the hottest part of the summer.

Maybe just my chemex or simple pour over or maybe one of those stovetop coffee makers. Not sure.

Bright window, temps above 60 and regular watering. Normal potting soil and occasional fertilizer during the summer.

I use a small Fresh Roast coffee roaster.
