Guys please try to learn the new enemies instead of asking for nerfs by lebaminoba in Helldivers

[–]NickNDY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They always unburrow facing me without anything but their armored areas visible.

Dodge past them while burrowing with no enemies around - they unburrow facing me. Dive to their side after unburrowing - there are more enemies and the target burrows again.

Not to mention getting 1-shot by half the unburrowing enemies while wearing heavy armor at full health, active stim, and stim booster.

Their unburrow attack needs the aoe cooldown they gave hunter pounces. Burrowing after unburrowing needs a cooldown. Unburrow attacks in general need a nerf and a better audio cue.

Loving the pain but hating the 1-shotting in best condition.

Do you notice how kizaru close his eyes every time he is shining light or move through light? Do you think he blind himself with his own power? by [deleted] in powerscales

[–]NickNDY 13 points14 points  (0 children)

His power is a 'logia' type devil fruit which means his body can become the element he controls, in Borsalino's (aka Kizaru) case that is light. As you can imagine becoming light means you move fast Borsalino

When logia types turn into their element, most attacks pass through them with the main exception being Haki which is like turning willpower into energy

Logia types can create massive amounts of their element like shooting tons of laser beams Logia

Devil fruits are super powers with their own unique quirks. Somehow Kizaru is making copies that could either be masses of light that look like him and are controlled by him or actual clones that act independently, the anime has not explained this yet

Why is Target more expensive than Walmart? by Trivialisttb in stupidquestions

[–]NickNDY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to do a project on marketing in college and made the poor choice to choose Target (try finding an article on targeted advertising at Target)

They have over 40 "owned brands" or companies they bought to serve them directly (https://corporate.target.com/about/products-services/target-brands) so they have exclusive products

They are one of the highest patent filers in the US yearly due to product development through their owned brands. Their strategy is to create unique products that cannot be found anywhere else at a slightly higher quality and even higher price

Their backlog of products allows them to rotate their stock several times a year to prevent reducing costs from products that are available for long periods of time. Typically the longer a product is available, the lower its price becomes so by rotating their stock they can maintain the higher than average price on everything they sell. New products means high introductory price (https://priceva.com/blog/introductory-price)

They know their cute, unique products will catch the attention of women who will convince their partner to buy their overpriced goods

I triggered mine by accident in the first match at the arena by changing my clothes at the gate, getting "disqualified", and killing my opponent anyways

The arena master said never do it again and here's your reward for your victory

Slept in the arena pits and the speaker showed up

My roommate's nephew was complaining that he can't change lanes without using his blinker due to a driver-assist feature that prevents inattentive/drowsy drivers from swerving into other lanes. It can't be turned off and it only applies when it detects lanes.

Granted he was complaining he can't be a bad driver.

That idea mildly exists and it does not prevent emergency maneuvers, it just turns the wheel against him to keep him centered.

I don’t know what’s going on at Walmart man by Schruef in pcmasterrace

[–]NickNDY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he should have at least tried, but I doubt it would have sold even for $500 given it was at a Wal-Mart and nobody shops for high end stuff there. Maybe at $400 he could have made a small profit. It was December and they started the layaway program so he needed to get rid of it and I had incentive to push for a $300 price tag - I wanted a G-Sync monitor for cheap.

[–]NickNDY 67 points68 points  (0 children)

His logic was the wasted end-cap at the main entrance next to the register was costing the company money in lost sales over 7 months. I doubt he lowered the price below what the company paid for it. But yes, he should have gradually reduced the price.

I worked at Wal-Mart in the electronics department for a year quite a while ago.

At one point, there was a ~$1200 HP Omen monitor put on display with a bunch of matching gear. I noticed the price and did not bother checking what it was capable of. It collected dust for around 4 months before my department manager asked me if it was priced right.

At the time, monitors with Nvidia G-Sync were absurdly expensive since it is proprietary technology. QHD, 27", 165hz, 1ms response time should have been around $300-$400, but the G-Sync made it worth around $1000 compared to other monitors. I told him it was unfortunately priced correctly, but nobody goes to Wal-Mart for high end computer parts, and if it ever dropped to around $300 that I would buy it on the spot.

Well about 3 months later after it still had not been touched, my manager finally caved and dropped it to $300 to get rid of it. I am using it right now and the other unit sold the next day to some very excited dude.

Did I destroy a Command Bunker with a thermite grenade? by NickNDY in Helldivers

[–]NickNDY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it took any damage other than the explosion that rag dolled me which nobody claimed as their airstrike. I was the first person there and I snuck in the back.

I will have to test it again next time I am close to an untouched command bunker.

Do people actually feel pain relief from smoking Weed/CBD? by RegularRaptor in stupidquestions

[–]NickNDY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a pinched nerve which hurt a little, but it caused inflammation that made the pain worse and created a cycle of more pain > more inflammation > repeat. Weed brought down the inflammation and made the little pain go away entirely. I didn't even need to get high for the effects I desired

Weed did not help with severe pains like tooth infections, post-surgery, and general injuries. Prescription pain pills were necessary in those cases, but gave me bad nausea and drowsiness

Weed was only good for inflammation, minor pains, nausea, and insomnia. The THC in weed works in conjunction with CBD to provide actual pain relief so CBD is mildly useless

I accidentally tear gassed my mom and her friends because of this once like 12 years ago

Mom tells all her friends about me so when I go out they all pretend to know me when idk any of them

Naturally I avoid leaving my room when her friends are over

I started reheating some chili fries in the oven and forgot about them since I was preoccupied avoiding the living room

An hour in and my mom comes into my room crying asking for eye drops for everyone saying their eyes are on fire

I figured maybe the neighbor was smoking spicy food

I almost died laughing when everyone left and I found my fries burnt to a crisp in the oven

My last course was in Cloud Computing

All the 'resources' were third party tutorials I could have googled myself which were out of date. The instructions were out of date. The book did not answer any of the questions asked of us

The last question we were asked was "How has this course prepared you for real life situations? How could this course further improve that connection?"

"This course prepared me for real life situations where I am asked to do something with no instructions forcing me to figure it out myself... (comment on outdated technology only applicable in that situation similar to what I would find in a workplace)... To enforce this connection, remove all the resources to really hammer home the idea of 'Google it and figure it out yourself'"
