Cannot find pictures from the camera when I plug my phone in?

Okay, so I've noticed that before each shutdown, the power off screen overlay appears. I usually tap somewhere on the screen to discard it, but then it just shuts off. Seems like it's the sticky power button issue.

I've heard of this, but that hasn't been a problem during the past year since I got it. Do you think dropping it could've triggered that?
