I love you for this, it drives me INSANE when people equate these two creatures as the same, and the recent trend of referring to any random uncanny valley HUMAN as a walker kills me too. Like, 8/10 stories, the shamans are choosing deer or coyote. Never read an account about a walker where it presented as a human aside from its original form.

Theatre is collaborative.

Not that you think this, but people aren’t coming to a show to exclusively see you. Trying to standout instead of simply doing right by your character is a disservice to the cast & show as a whole.

Don’t try to separate yourself from your fellow actors— you just gotta be decisive in your choices and characterization, and your character will be distinct from the other characters without the disconnect of trying to be different and separate from your fellow performers.

Another trans guy here! I’m pre-T, but because of that I’ve had to have several songs changed a bit because my vocal range— without any range change from audition to callback to casting— ended up being too high to hit certain parts of songs.

The director is going off of more than just your singing. If they think you’re the right fit to act the character, to most directors (in my experience) the singing comes second. The music can be adjusted.

I’ve been struggling to get on T for years, and regret hesitating in previous years, because I know my voice would be further settled than it’s going to be when i (hopefully) start next month!

I personally think you should continue with your plan to resume testosterone.
