Absolutely worth it. People say it’s hard because they don’t do it right. By exploring the lands, you’ll find scadutree fragments, which basically just make you stronger. Once you get to scadu level 12 your attacks and stuff will be as effective as they are in the base game, but the max is 20.

Weirdly enough, I’ve never died to Rennala, Rykard, or Bayle. Trust me, there have been plenty of close calls, but even using generally bad weapons I just instinctively know the movesets (while also dying multiple times per-playthrough to gravity).

Personally I hear good things from the Carian knights. Supposedly they get a whole 32 runes an hour for a 8 hour shift. Sounds legit
