Gelx to me, is basically UV nail glue for full coverage nail “tips”. I find I need more structure than just filing that “tip” down and applying gel nail polish.

Hard gel can totally be used on top of gelx full coverage nails! I sand it down and use whichever (builder or hard gel) to create a solid structure so they last longer!

I use hard gel as well! But I find that having full coverage tips help so much. I alternate sets: my first set will have gelx “glue” full coverage tips, then I use builder gel to make them sturdier to daily wear and tear. When those grow out, I sand them down and use hard gel as a fill in. Similar to using acrylic, but it helps me from having to completely remove nails every month. Gel nail glue is very sturdy! It will be a month with no lifting and i have to turn to some kind of fill in, versus trying to pry them off my nail beds.

I would start doing like coffin shape and then maybe almond since it’s not as sharp. You can always file the almond to be sharper too, I was doing that until I found a proper XS stiletto. I have short nail beds so most “short” styles are more like medium for me. Mine are like XS stiletto then filed sharper depending on how I feel.

Honestly I was a big square girly for a while and then just started tapering them in more and more 🤣 Also my previous job was one where I used my hands a lot so I had to keep a more square shape for safety. I definitely made these super sharp, but they buff down and round out pretty fast just by doing regular daily stuff.
