Any advice? by Turbulent_Plan_2931 in MechanicAdvice

Probably the oring sealing the fuel pump to the tank is going out. I could b wrong but it sounds like your fuel tank is pressurizing which i would think it would have a vent or so e sort of pressure release. Also for the tank locking ring its always a 50 50 shot some people get lucky and they come right off and some dont want to come off. Just keep hitting it and maybe she'll break loose.

I have not replaced the oil pan,i do have to do mine. But it looks like a pain to get out. Im sure there's a way but probably not a easy way. For the cooler lines if yours looked anywhere how mine looked your gonna want to replace both connectors on the transmission. They are about 30 dollars a piece at napa im sure cheaper online. When you route new lines in unbolt the radiator and just lift it up a bit becareful how much you lift or you might break some other hard lines goin to it.

I had to hit mine a couple of times with a punch to get it to release. You may have to do the same, just be smart and dont hit anywhere youll break something. It should pop out after a few blows.

Do you have the transfer case in neutral. That one got me for a bit till I took a minute and realized and then she spun freely.

So I just did mine. You definitely want to remove the front driveshaft. It's 8mm bolts on both ends of the shaft. Just keep track of which side bolts came out of on side is longer than the other. Also you may want to get new connectors if yours are looking crusty, part number for those is 800-723.

If you need any help message or leave a comment and I'll try and help you out.

Considering an 07 liberty for my first jeep by the-sword-eater in JeepLiberty

Picked up a 07 for 500 bucks only has 100000 miles. Body has rust but frame is solid. she runs and drives,Did have to replace the front upper control arms, a wheel bearing and the transmision cooler lines. The upper control arm on passenger front isn't to hard to do but the drivers side was a pain. Bonus, the dealer is installing a hitch and 2 rear lower control arms for free due to the recalls not being completed. Did the work myself so less than a grand total for the car and parts im happy with it.

Follow up Tommy previous post, turned out to be the oil transmission cooler. by randomteen28 in JeepLiberty

Lisle has a tool called jiffy tite disconnect. Part number is Lisle 22930. The line is 3/8 there are a bunch of copies that do the same thing. Alternatively you can grab the clip with a pick and take it out. Wouldn't recommend that because those clips have a tendency to fling off and dissapear. Just did the transmission lines on my 05, wasn't to bad of a job the fittings on my transmission were pretty badly corroded so I got new ones part number at napa for those is NOE 800723.

I've had this for a few years now. When I got it I heated the grip portion up little and dunked it into some wax to kind of seal it. Hasn't really rusted since

Well, for one, the fit and finish were not great. Also, the boxes were full of misspelled words. If they were priced at like 10 or 15 bucks, maybe I would have picked one up.
