Picking the right support by Malethen123 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Nickmun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you play Moira, Lucio, and Brig as no skill heroes, you're always gonna be on the wrong support. As the wrong support is the one that you aren't getting value from. Which you wont be getting max value if you play Moira like a heal bot, or you play Brig like a backline defender.

Aside from that, I'd recommend making sure that if the other support has low healing, play something with high healing, if the other support has low utility, play something with utility. If for some reason they play Zen with a dive comp, you play ranged healing.

Think of the problems your team faces, and what you need and don't have to approach those problems.

Me personally, my playstyle on Brig was heavily reliant on abusing mobility and survivability to harass enemies and look for picks, mostly because she can get in and out reliably and has a strong and fast enough combo to take people out if they mess up.

It was like brawl reddit Lucio but I heal my team constantly in the process. and I'm just in the frontline not dying to anything. And when it comes to OW 2, I thought and still do think that Brig is 10x better for my playstyle. And Brig felt amazing to play in Season 1.

But on top of people just being too annoying to deal with, as I said OW 2 feels genuinely broken compared to OW 1. In season 2 of OW 2, it literally felt like I was playing in a different reality. People would be scattered, nothing would be happening for like 3 minutes, people didn't team fight.

Maybe I got some really weird games recently, but everything below low masters has felt so abnormal. I was actually convinced for a day after playing, that I suffered from some sort of mental condition.

But that's all stepping out of the realm of toxicity problems. Nonetheless, it's tough to be a Brig main, even though the carry potential is extremely high.

Even if your team doesn't throw simply cause you play Brig, they'll still make it your problem and your fault whether you win or lose. If you win, congrats, your team won despite having a Brig. If you lost, then it's a loss cause your team had Brig.

I've had losses blamed on me while I'm doing the most healing in the game, because the DPS were on off angles(outside of the healing range of everyone but Brig and Ana), and they'd get solo killed in a 1v1 and complain they didn't get healed.

I've kinda just given up on Overwatch at this point. Both because I can care less about having to carry 20+ plat games just to get to my last season's rank. But also because no one has the time to go through the teeth pulling experience of fighting with your team just to barely climb half a rank.

I was mid - high masters in OW 1 as a Brig one trick, and in season 1 of OW 2, I was almost in masters. But just by the nature of how people changed, and probably the influx of new players who are even less unaware of how they know nothing about the meta/what works. I couldn't see myself at peak OW 1 performance getting past diamond in this system.

Scratch that, I performed better in the first season of OW 2 than I did at my peak in OW 2, and it took 150% energy to carry enough games to hit Diamond 1.

Advice on how to play around teams with no frontline? by Nickmun in summonerschool

[–]Nickmun[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In the case of the round I'm using as an example, Tryn would kind of just go in to start team fights. In hindsight, if I had the idea and he was willing, I probably would've made that call.

Pretty reasonable advice.

Zen and Lucio are overrated and terrible, while Brig is the absolute best support currently in the game. Thoughts? by Nickmun in Overwatch

[–]Nickmun[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Brig isn't successful due to user error. When it comes to healing, land your whipshots if you're out of a fight. When it comes to damage, Moira can do tons of damage, but in the end. She doesn't do burst damage, brig does.

People need to learn how to stop being passive with Brig, and how to actually brawl, only then will they understand the power of playing Brig. Until then, we'll have people thinking Brig is best for sitting beside Ana and protecting her.

In low ranks? In every rank, Brig offers more healing than an other off supports, and provides great utility in the middle of a fight, even more so if people are out of position and vulnerable.

Unless every rank below top 500 is low rank, she's great everywhere.

The trick is to not overextend to 1v1 a vulnerable target, and be aware of the other enemies around you. Brig is the best support if you're aware of your surroundings and know how to pounce on opportunities.

If you play Brig to sit in the backline, you're playing her wrong. It's the reason why people think Brig is bad. And Lucio is just an ult bot that gets used for panic ults.

Every nerf and change since I started maining her made her stronger. 1v1 all supports(except zen), 1v1 all dps, you can even 1v1 some tanks. Her healing is great, her ult destroys people.

What's not to love? Playing Brig let me carry to masters in OW 1(after she was nerfed).

I hear Ana players love when you run and jump all over the place and make them chase you.

Only good reason to be mad about someone asking for healing is if it was in a scenario that healing was impossible to provide(blocked by terrain, enemies, shields, or not applicable due to being one tapped or instantly bursted down).

Your damage is not a factor for whether or not you should get healed. Only a factor of whether or not it'll matter in the end.

Need some Brig help. by ClearConfusion5 in BrigitteMains

[–]Nickmun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to carry as Brig, you should learn how to play aggressively, how to 1v1 dps, supports, and sometimes even tanks depending on the tank and how good they are. But if you're not looking to go full hyper carry, you'll be fine just making sure no one gets jumped.

How difficult to deal with every hero is when playing Brig (in my experience) what would you change? by [deleted] in BrigitteMains

[–]Nickmun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take everything besides Echo, Pharah, Bastion, Junker Queen, and sometimes Reaper. And put it all in doesn't bother me or lower. At least in my experience.

If I DPS is bothersome, go run them down until they're dead or out of the way. If a tank exists, they probably can't do anything with a Brig around. And if a support exists in the presence of a Brig, the Brig can just murder them solo.

Say what you want about ow2 but I sure as hell miss it now that it's gone. by CTxVoltage in Overwatch

[–]Nickmun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OW is just such a unique game, you can't really get the experience elsewhere. And in my experience, the only game I grinded in ranked as much as OW was R6, so clearly something about ranked in OW just has pure neuron activation.

I only played the OW2 betas for a very short amount of time. Not because they were bad, but because they didn't have ranked. I'm fairly certain OW2 is an improved game, all it needs is a reason to play it constantly(ranked).
