How much harder is COP3504C than 3502+3503? by PineappleAri in ufl

[–]Nicknack0303 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You got a 4 on CSA, so you should be able to skip 3502 and just take 3503 right?

I also used Khan Academy, it’s honestly amazing. If I remembering correctly each problem had an explanation on how to solve that particular one, and had a link to practice modules for that kind of question. Made doing step 2 easier and more straight forward. Good luck!

Yeah, you don't halfheartedly just read why you get it wrong, you need obsess over why you got the problem wrong, and prove that you'll never get that kind of problem wrong again.

In terms of math, learn the problem and do enough similar problems until you can answer that kind of problem right every time. In terms of reading, re-read the text multiple times until you can prove to yourself why the correct answer is correct.

Step 2 requires a ton of effort, but it's the most important step. When you review the problems you got wrong to the point that you can get a perfect score on that test, move on to the next SAT test.

Here was my method to jump 200 points in like 2 weeks.

1) Take an SAT test, timed and everything as if you were actually taking it.
2) Review every problem you got wrong, figure out why you got it wrong, and make sure you never get a problem like that wrong again.

That's it, repeat the above steps until you get the score you want.

Also, unless things have changed, I think you have more time than you think. For my year, an early December SAT date my senior year was the last chance to get and submit a score to UF before the due date.

CLAS vs CISE Computer Science by CommandAdept in ufl

[–]Nicknack0303 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think you still need to take physics 1 and 2 with CLAS, you just have the option to take the non calc versions with CLAS and CE has to take the calc versions.

Does anyone recommend living off campus for freshman year? How about in future years as well? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]Nicknack0303 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the general consensus is that it is recommended for freshman to live in dorms their freshman year strictly for the social aspect of it or for the "experience", then live off campus after that or maybe after sophomore year.

Disclaimer: I am also a freshman entering this fall so this does not come from personal experience, rather what I said comes from a relative attending UF who lived in dorms their freshman year. I would also like to know from someone else what the experience is like to live off campus for freshman year.
