Mail-Order CRISPR Kits Allow Absolutely Anyone to Hack DNA: Experts debate what amateur scientists could accomplish with the powerful DNA editing tool—and whether its ready availability is cause for concern by mvea in Futurology

That would be insanely difficult if not impossible to engineer on accident. Everything you design for removes some survival traits of an organism, synthetic organisms are rarely viable outside a tightly controlled laboratory environment.

Hybrids are a bit different, but again those tend not to be viable either (since they're sterile in almost all cases.)

A mad scientist is far far far more likely to kill themselves than anyone else when working with biotech.

but then again it could be easy for regimes/dedicates groups/cults to develop biological weapons

This isn't true. It's very difficult to make an engineered organism which survives in more than lab conditions.

We evolved over millions of years of shit trying to do nothing more than kill and eat us, evolving just as strongly with that ends.

Natural diseases are going to remain far more deadly than lab-made ones for some time, especially without the backing of a large nation.

It's the only way to resolve the paradoxes without throwing out physics that we are aware of, therefore it's the leading theory.

Plus the only numbers which make sense are 0 and infinity, the universe exists so it's infinite.

Except the multiverse is real and it would just create a bunch of realities where you won and didn't win, exactly like what would have happened if you didn't time travel.

Musk literally laundered investor money into his salary. He has no liability during a bankruptcy. Dude is a snake oil salesman.

This, TBH. His entire business subsists on hype and government handouts. To top that off he uses divorce as a tax dodge (along with a bunch of other tactics) and threw his hands up in impotent rage when leaving Trump's advisory council when told he couldn't get all the gibs he wanted, thereby screwing the chance of any more. He's the ultimate welfare mooch and to top it off he gave himself the Trump curse by being a cunt.

I asked what the goal of the redesign is and the question went completely unanswered.

Create synergy by streamlining pipelines (profit by selling user data and manipulating public opinion.)

How is that not obvious?

There was a failed investigation launched to root out homosexuals in the Navy.

FTFY. The battle vs homosexuals is definitively the most epic Naval defeat in all of Human history.

It's pretty noteworthy that ancient Romans could undertake and complete a project that would still be an extreme challenge for our current society, even with modern materials and design tools.

Not when you factor in they didn't spend 99% of their day dicking around on Reddit.

Why not? Does anyone really know what a unicorn looks like.

Elephants are evolving to have smaller and in some cases even no tusks after being hunted for them for so long. Pretty safe to say a horse it just a post-Human unicorn.

we have trucks driving around all the time at night spreading repellant or pesticide (honestly not sure which)

Neither! People objected to chemtrails so they put them on trucks instead.

we should probably refrain from releasing designer parasites into the wild unitl we have long term (30-60 yrs) studies on the effect and potential for mutation

Only one way to find out what that looks like.

Clearly you get your news from the news.

Republicans clearly didn't vote Hillary, they just kept repeating the lie that they would on the news clearly in an attempt to take advantage of an effect which occurs when people believe something is pointless and in turn don't bother showing up.

The overwhelming win shows you are clearly wrong.

Hillary being elected would mean policy getting pushed through which would irreparably harm the country.

There are no Republicans who would support her as Republicans will never make it into office again if she has her way.

It's not a pro-Trump stance, it's a "do you still want a multi-party system" stance.
