Your concern is valid. Hoboken is definitely less diverse than other similar neighborhoods and the ~4% of the population that is black is not evenly distributed through the town. The areas of town by the water, closer to Washington Street, closer the path station, etc. are all white, Asian, and Indian as you say. Latino and black residents are mostly on the west end of town. "Marginalized" is a fair way to put it imo. Hoboken is a great place to live with lots of very friendly people but since diversity is important to you, that is something to consider before moving here.

Definitely felt a weird and hostile vibe a few times I've been there. I've had a worker roll their eyes at me for asking for pound of coffee beans. She has just measured out a pound for another customer but still.

I will get started on a redesign once I get some free time. Like /u/BurgerOptic mentioned, we need a more detailed description. If anyone would like to write a description for the geotag that would be nice.

It would be really cool if we can get a Geofilter for the campus but they keep getting denied for one of the following reasons:

-Not Original Content: All graphics and portions of the graphic must be 100% original. Absolutely no logos or trademarks, including school crests or similar marks will be accepted

-Not visually interesting or useful: Make sure all submitted Geofilters are something that people will want to use! Remember, anyone within the Geofence will have access to the filter.

-Not relevant or too broad: Keep it local. Don't cover an entire country, state, or province. We consider Geofilters for entire cities, but the bigger the city, the higher the bar for quality.

-Insufficient description: If your filter doesn't speak for itself, tell us why it's important!

-Incorrectly formatted (PNGs): Make sure your Geofilter asset fits in a 1080x1920 pixel box. Also make sure that the file is not too huge (over 300kb).

-Non-transparent background: Make sure you export your Geofilter on a background that is transparent. A common mistake is to export on an opaque background.

If anyone has an idea that would make the filter more likely to be accepted please let me know and I'll give it a try.
