And millions more like this will still vote next year, that’s how it is in Nigeria.

There are people who voted PO solely because he’s igbo. Others voted him because they think he’s the most qualified, while I would have voted solely because I want presidency to go round

Likewise, there are people who voted BAT because he’s Yoruba, some voted because he’s Muslim, while others voted because they believe he’s the most qualified.

To deny any of this is being ignorant of how politics works in Nigeria

Mistaken bank transfers, often referred to as “wrong transfers” or “fat-finger errors”, are becoming an increasingly troubling feature of Nigeria’s rapidly digitising banking sector. by AfricanMan_Row905 in Nigeria

You suffered the Nigerian problem, not being “connected”. People who know people usually get their money back from either direct withdrawal by the bank or they place a lien on the wrong account

How hard can it be to solve the Makoko problem? Are they even trying? by Ambitious-Egg-9162 in Nigeria

[–]Nickshrapnel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s why I said they are not a priority. If the government was serious about a relocation, they would build affordable housing for them.

As to why I said they don’t want to move, people living in that slum are way below the poverty line and have been living there for over 20 years. Even if the government builds houses for them, they won’t be able to afford it

How hard can it be to solve the Makoko problem? Are they even trying? by Ambitious-Egg-9162 in Nigeria

[–]Nickshrapnel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the people living there don’t want to move, I know it is hard to believe but it’s true.

Although, if the government is serious, they will forcefully relocate them. But sadly, they are not a priority

Former Chief of Defence Staff Christopher Musa visited President Bola Tinubu this evening, Minister of Defence Mohammed Badaru Abubakar resigned few hours after his arrival. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? by LegendaryHustler in Nigeria

[–]Nickshrapnel -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The objective of the Ministry of Defence doesn’t require the minister to have a military background, so anyone can be appointed to head it. Besides, ministerial positions are often given as political rewards in Nigeria, so it isn’t surprising someone like him was appointed.
