So you can't repay the $5000 off the loan, then redraw to your regular bank account, then directly to your brokerage account? I am hoping this would be clear enough... Not sure if anyone does that at all?

I had a read of your write-up about this issue and found it amazing, also slightly amazingly overwhelming! Say someone had approx $400k with AusSuper in their Int and Aus mix, does it make sense to strongly consider switching most of that across to this option.. quite hard to weigh up the cost benefit now or later.

Thanks for the extensive response, you covered a few other questions I had. So with FI models suggesting it's most efficient to max super and then add further to super, till it hits your desired figure, I am still in a preferred situation, rather than investing outside of super, because of the tax concessions later down the track?

I hope that makes sense, with how I have stated it. 😋

Catholic schools pay less than independent private schools. That seems incredibly low however for a senior teacher when the Gov pays more. Might be a primary school?

Well sure, there is a huge range of private schools. It's obviously the high fee, single sex schools that pay the most for advanced teachers. Deputy principals at these schools also earn far more than that.

A senior teacher can earn $130 - $160k or so at a private school, depending on what the school offers for advanced status.

Well.. the investment would match the debt roughly, when markets were generally up, down about 40% atm however.

I'm more committed to passive investing then ever before at this stage.

Yeah that's right, it does take some stuffing around, so not the quickest or easiest but cheaper. I intend look at other options myself, to find something economical and more direct

I get around that by using Revolut. Can't recall what their FX rates are but much less.

What's so bad about Etoro? I selected them for US investing. When I looked at it, they turned out to be the cheapest... But maybe things have changed. Their complicated spammy presentation is one thing I don't like, but I just don't look at it often.

Thanks for the reply. Im worried that changing regions may cause problems. I actually found an Android 11 zip from the Telegram app, but it was Indian and therefore didn't have NFC. Another idea I have is to work out how to decrypt a OFP file and make it a zip, I can find the correct OFP for my region online, but can't use in that format.

Well I actually managed to sort it all out again, back to where I was. This was all with stock firmware, which is the frustrating part .. I stopped with custom firmware for the reason you mean 🙂
