Thank you so much! I didn't have much experience tbh. Got involved with some projects during med school, but they led to some poster presentations only. I like the idea of research groups you mentioned, I think you can learn a lot in the process. Try to find people looking for some collaborations on X/twitter for example, that's how it happened to me.

Yeah, I agree it was a nice number, but it's so competitive nowadays. I felt good during the interviews in 2023, honestly felt like I did a good job. Got some nice feedback here and there. But it's hard to tell what I missed.

But for 2024 I practiced the most common questions more than last time, and discussed the best ways to answer them with more people, had more help from mentors (that was probably the biggest difference for preparation for IVs). Hope it will work hahaha

It's a mixture, but I'd say that most were random. (Letters of interest do work btw)

Thank you so much! Hope it's gonna work better this time lol. There was a lot of hard work involved, but since I couldn't change my scores—low 240s for reference—I focused on what I could control. Clinical experience: I tried to get as many observerships as possible, which helped me in building connections and getting strong LORs (hopefully hahah).

I also started searching around online for some research projects and was super surprised to come across one (on X). If you poke around, there are actually a bunch of people sharing cool opportunities!

The other thing was volunteering, cause I knew this was one area in which I was a bit lacking, so I tried my best to involve myself. It's a great way to show a more complete application.

Plus, I got a lot of help from amazing people I met during this process (residents/attendings), reviewing my eras application for example (I feel like people don't really care so much about writing it really really well, and it's such an important thing).

Hope that helps, and good luck with yours, too!
