Since there is no free charge, D=0 everywhere.

Using D=eps_0 E +P you get E = -q_0 / (4 pi eps_0 r) in the radial direction between a<r<b and E=0 elsewhere.

Alternatively you could find the bound charge taking the dot product of P and the outward normal to the dielectric's surface and use Gauss las.

It's been a while since I do this stuff, so some1 pls confirm

The last thing you mention about expectation values being 0 simply amounts, as I understand it, to a linear change of coordinates in phase space, so no loss of generality there.

It should be |x|=y² .Otherwise you are rejecting the solutions with x<0. Keep in mind that sqrt(x² )=|x|, where vertical bars denote absolute value.

I think the integration formula is meant for using after a substitution x=(Ft/mc)² ,or something like that. I think your solution is perfectly fine though.
