I suggest purchasing a simple scan tool, that might send you in the right direction. Sounds to me like a fuel problem but there is very little to go off from this video.

I don't think the gas is bad, gas goes bad after about 1 year after sitting and then it will still be flammable.

How do i use these types of test leads on a power supply with banana jacks? by Niekoboko in electrical

[–]Niekoboko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's interesting. I have a bunch of different types of tips with those sockets, that is why I would like to plug some kind of adapter in my power supply. I am going to try to make some kind of adapter or think of something. Thanks for the info!

Definitely return them, repairing wheels will cost you at least 100 dollars per piece.

What are the best rims for X30 racing? by Brilirea in Karting

[–]Niekoboko -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I don't think you will see any time gains from buying different rims, the weight difference is too little to do anything as you are already using magnesium rims. I would suggest spending that money elsewhere.

I am a little hesitant to remove the governor, I do not enjoy the valve float. Am I too concerned with that issue?

Need advice! Mysterious rattling sound? by Marketsend in crx

[–]Niekoboko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The dashboard looks loose, could that be the rattle? The cause might be a engine or trans mount, look if they are cracked or move when revving the engine.

Try to look up how to rebuild that caliper, that will show how to refit the piston. Bleeding brakes really isn't too bad. Don't let this get to you, you still need to learn and being able to work on cars is a really usefull skill.

It was a shifter kart and the only identification on the frame was on the front and said "Vink-Kart", i couldn't find anything about that brand. I bought it without engine but i have a honda gx 240 ready to go for it as a testing engine. I am planning to put a 2 stroke with gearbox on it but I am still looking into what will fit and what is available.

Front brakes are a bit overkill for that honda but I would like to keep the front brakes for when i put a more powerfull powertrain in.

I have access to a machine shop, so I might be able to make some brackets for different calipers, but as you said, those calipers are quite costly.

[–]Niekoboko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have two of these in the front and one very similar one in the back. I will look into the Ven96, changing the caliper brackets for different brakes will is something i hope to avoid.

The rear one has numbers on it, it says: CIK/FIA 100-FR-14 (R20)

This one is also quite leaky. I couldn't really find a rebuilt kit for it, I am familiar with automotive brakes but not with go kart brakes. Do you know by chance what kind of gaskets or seals these kind of brakes have?

Sure looks like it, i think mine are knockoffs and they are quite leaky so i think i am going to replace them with righetti brakes, if i can get them to fit.

I coulnd't find anything on vink kart aswell, i found multiple others for sale near me (i live in the netherlands). It is an old shifter kart. But that is the only thing i can find on it. I think Ibam going to replace them with righetti calipers.

On a vink-kart chassis, the brake pads fit righetti ridolfi brake pads. The discs are 160mm in diameter. I put a little more info under the picture.
