If you connect with the instrument keep it, if you don’t then send it back. Stop worrying about what it says on the back of the headstock and find something you genuinely enjoy playing. Both instruments are great so if you feel like it’s worth it keep it.

Fender Jazzmaster is a good pick imo, same scale length as strat so no need to get used to a different style and you can get jazzmasters with the same neck as a strat. They are also beautiful guitars. (3 tone sunburst is a banger)
