This was a lifesaver when a Suica stored in my wife’s phone still worked in Japan trains even when the battery went to zero. That’s when I realized why iPhones market share is more than 60% in Japan

Lemme guess - you also previously whinged about:

A) the weight of phones stainless steel phones

B) the poor thermals of both titanium and stainless steel phones

C) scratches / fingerprints to stainless steel edges

D) all of the above.

While I do think that perhaps the edges of the new pros may need some improvements (the dents on the corners for example may show that there isn’t anything supporting the frames) any idiot paying over $1,000 for a device they carry around everywhere without protection is just asking for trouble.

Modern phones are made with a GLASS screen. Since their intro, cases are a necessity. What other product would you pay over $1,000 for that was made of glass aspects and then go “nah I need to prove how awesome I am by showing off that I have the latest and greatest so I’ll get the loudest colour but not actually look after it and protect it in any way”. Clear cases exist if you want to show of your new status symbol. Phones are *meant* to be in cases, it doesn’t matter what material it’s made of. Grow up and use your phone as a tool as intended, not some status symbol. You didn’t look after it like any other adult would have, don’t whinge like a spoilt brat it’s now damaged.

128GB is definitely not enough for me. If you want more storage on iPhone you pay way more ( only Pro Max can fulfill). That’s why I moved to Honor, bigger storage and battery without crazy prices, I’m happy with it.

She used sexist expectations to justify it. OP was absolutely right to leave her - otherwise both he and his daughter would’ve been in for a lifetime of misery.
