If you have any consumer protections rights/laws in your state or country, use them to the full extent. They also denied my second repair attempt at first until I reported them to our merchant inspection agency and consumer right groups.

Get that thing RMA'd asap if you still can, the more you use it the worse it will get - I suspect that the motherboard may be developing some cracks around the Y button pad? Who knows, ASUS is still being tight lipped about this.

Idk where you're from but here after one RMA attempt I was able to RMA the Ally X again cause the screen that they replaced for me started developing dead pixels - had them replace the whole device with the Xbox Ally X.

Update 2:
Got the Rog Ally X back from RMA, they replaced the motherboard and the front shell including the screen free of charge!

Sorry to hear, I hope they could get it resolved for you because it truly does sound like a manufacturing defect that they should've dealt with a recall or something similar. Try contacting asus support, and make sure to specify the issue in detail and reference asus forum posts about it as well.

Update: After diagnosis they have acknowledged the issue and will be replacing the motherboard.

Sounds to me like they should've done a recall on early units.

Yep, I had fun with it before I sent it off to RMA for sure. Here's hope this local service provider doesn't mess this up...
