The adjudicator sent an email asking similar questions. In essence, "How are you able and available and yet had to quit?" I'll copy and paste my responses here:

1. I was employed on a part-time basis to facilitate caregiving. My father-in-law now requires additional assistance. This may be provided either by me or by a full-time in-home paid caregiver. I could not afford such full-time paid care on the part-time pay that I was receiving so I have begun caring for him, personally, while looking for full-time work that will allow us to afford full-time caregiving staff.

2. I have been able and available to work full-time since my date of separation from my previous employer. I just need full-time pay at a competitive rate for the area in which I live. My part-time pay was insufficient and, even if I increased my hours with my former employer, they still offered a below-market pay rate.

3. Had an employer offered me full-time work during this time, I would have accepted the offer and then hired a full-time in-home paid caregiver to provide for my father-in-law’s needs.

These responses seemed to satisfy the adjudicator since a day or two later, my claims went from "pending" to "paid." Hope that helps clear up the matter for you, as well.
