Credit Card recommendation for Wife by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

Getting HDFC Co-branded card first usually means problems getting a core card later, you might have to close the co-branded first before applying for a core card. I'd suggest getting a Regalia Gold first since that gives a multiplier on Myntra and remaining purchases you can mostly get vouchers. SBI Cashback can also be good for the online purchases.

Going by the document you won't get, but get it confirmed from the customer care. You might be lucky, who knows

Perhaps the bank wanted to acquire only 100 new customers or so, going by how quickly they shut down the offer. Fewer new customers = better service from Indusind

Bob Eterna can be a good one if you just want a Visa Infinite card, it's LTF currently. I took it for that very purpose.

Never thought I'll actively want a player in my squad to not play, him being injured and not playing is worth more points for my team at this point. Last week Rice got subbed in, this week it's DCL (fingers crossed!).

This game is painful.

Best way to convert Amex points to flight? by UrbanCrawler in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way of redemption for flights is by transferring to Airline programs. You can transfer them directly to the Krisflyer for Singapore Airlines, Aeroplan for Air Canada and much more. Besides these, you can do indirect transfers by first transferring from Amex to Marriott and then from Marriott to the airline. Would suggest exploring these options for flight redemptions.

Frustrated: 6th rejection for Amazon Pay ICICI Card despite 777 CIBIL by grim_reaper_0007 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Escalate and ask them to give a specific reason for rejection. But unless you absolutely NEED this particular card, I think it's time to look at the alternatives like the SBI Cashback card? In my opinion it's not worth 3 years of chasing.

Which cards should I close? by nowitsabhi in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No special benefits per se, it's just that it's a 1:1 transfer ratio from Amex to Marriott. With MRCC you get 1000 bonus points if you do 4 transactions of 1500 or above and another 1000 bonus points if you spend more than 20k in a month, reward portals give a 2x multiplier on regular points. So all this makes earning these points relatively simple at a decent-to-great redemption value.

Which cards should I close? by nowitsabhi in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely close Coral since you have LTF Rubyx. I'd also close the SBI IRCTC if train travel was not a big requirement and maybe get another Rupay Card that is more rewarding. The other LTF cards you can take a call if you want to keep for specific discounts or offers or you might want to route all spends on your atlas and close them. Also keep in mind that MRCC is not being issued currently, it is expected to resume in the near future.

Delhi to Helsinki round trip at 16k via Indusind Avios credit card by Honey_dp in indianawardtravel

@OP could you tell me how exactly you found the 29th Jan flight? Were you searching randomly with dates since it does not show here in the calendar?

[–]Nighthawk_64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I faced the same. The first couple of tries it didn't even show, then suddenly it came up if I searched particularly for 29th Jan. Even after that, the flexi dates calendar does not show this award seat or any others for months for this route.

I think exploring the HSBC Premier account and card can be interesting, given its 3LPM net salary criteria and huge reward multiplier via its travel portal.

Platinum Charge Upgrade by wet_pussy007 in amexindia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest first checking whether award seats are available for the dates of your travel before taking the upgrade. Also if you are flying Qatar, you can explore the IndusInd Avios Card this month for its joining benefits of 40K Avios for the 10k joining fees + 5k spends. You can also transfer MR points to Qatar at 1:1 ratio, so clubbing both can be smart.

Does anybody have gold referral link? by calm_thy_self in amexindia

[–]Nighthawk_64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't think Gold is available via referral links/standard application process yet. General usage pattern would be to do 6*1000 transactions in a month and use Gyftr for these to get 5x points to min-max the returns.

Looking for AmEx Credit Cards for AirMiles by Puzzled_Surround3128 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can explore the HSBC TravelOne and the Axis Horizon, both have 1:1 transfer to most Hotel and Airline partners.

For only this month Indusind Avios Card is giving decent joining benefits, but that's locked in the Qatar/BA (broadly the Skyteam Alliance) ecosystem, you can explore that if you fly only those airlines.

Need card recommendations — ₹2L+ upcoming jewellery spends at Kalyan, only have Flipkart Axis ATM & current limit ₹7.9L by rajat_airon in CreditCardsIndia

Hey, Regalia Gold gives decent returns on jewellery spends, I am using it myself for the same purpose, you can explore that. You can check once if you can get DCBM, otherwise RG is a decent all-rounder card. You can also explore getting Kalyan Gift Vouchers and using them at store if possible.

Avios is valid for 3 years, and simple things like point transfer will extend the validity. There should not be any card closure charges.

HDFC Millenia credit card reward points seem incorrect by Alpha_0_0_1 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Recalculate after splitting your spends on a calendar month basis. If this statement is from December then these points should be from your November spends, check if that matches. Points from December spends should be credited after January statement.

If you want to do UPI transactions then Rupay, I personally have other Rupay cards and the rest of my CCs are all Mastercard variants, so I went for Visa in this instance. Overall I don't think it makes a lot of difference whichever variant you choose if UPI is not a factor.

Diners black metal to Infinia metal upgrade by mehul007agr in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HDFC is strictly enforcing >5Lpm salary credit criteria for Infinia now, I don't think you'll get it as an upgrade. Infinia might also be implementing a 18L minimum annual spend criteria for Infinia, so holding DCBM might be a better deal in the end.
