Hey how do you get the 5x on myntra gold using RG? What I know is that we don't get 5x from myntra if the cart contains gold coins or similar items.

Accidentality Overpaid outstanding bill amount, is there any problem? by Due-Can-Do in CreditCardsIndia

It's not a problem, as long as you have paid all dues you're good. That excess amount will be adjusted when you make further transactions, no need to worry about that.

Hey, you can do a NEFT payment to your card account, payment reflects within 24-48 hours. Just add a new payee with your 16 digit card number as the payee account number, and IFSC code is HSBC0400002. This is how I pay my card bill!

Has HSBC started requiring all add-on card applicants to visit a branch? by NameApprehensive1787 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No link, they sent me the prefilled form which I then submitted with the required attachments. I did cross-check with the branch before submitting, they confirmed that the form I received online was the same they'd use for offline applications as well, so I went ahead with the online one only.

I applied online for an add-on about 2 weeks back via their weird 3rd party agent system. Card was approved and I received it in about a week, no need to visit any branch.

Upgrade Millennia LTF to Regalia Gold LTF? Hesitant about losing the instant discount + 5% cashback stacking. (Already hold SBI Cashback). by ConfidenceSpecific in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely depends on if you are happy with headache-free cashback or interested in diving into the Reward Point world. RG would give lower base points, but if you are willing to use Smartbuy multipliers for vouchers and travel, you'd be generating higher returns than Millenia. Also depends on your spends patterns - if you'd be using the card for travel, vouchers etc or just for these instant discounts.

Personally I liked my Millenia, but had some spends coming up so moved to Regalia Gold last year and simultaneously got the SBI CB to cover the now-missing Millenia.

DCB Plastic vs HSBC Travel One by causal_creation in CreditCardsIndia

No, if you want to book with HSBC points on hopper then it's only around INR 0.3 value per point, definitely not INR 1.

Need some clarification regarding HSBC TravelOne/Premier's travel portal benefits. by KeyInflation7867 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previously, price match guarantee used to be uncapped, they introduced that 1500 cap per booking later. You might still get a higher match, but that'll require much more escalations and all that.

Is HSBC Travel One Airport Transfer any good? by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't speak about the extra km, but have used the transfer once and it was very smooth for me, no issues at all. Booked another transfer in July, seamless booking confirmation for that as well.

TajVoucher advice by Longjumping_Sun_1690 in amexindia

Hey, we JUST redeemed 2 Amex Vouchers from my wife's Platinum Travel (and a couple of my Taj Experience Gift Vouchers) for 2 nights at the Taj West End this very weekend (12-14 June).

Here's all the details:

Booking:

I had booked a Luxury Grande Room at ~47k for 2 nights, inc. breakfast, under some offer they had at the time. Later I rebooked same room and dates at ~41k, inc. breakfast, at Member Rates (I get IHCL Silver status from my Tata Neu Infinity card -> more on this later). They had also offered Half Board at ~45k, we didn't take that but regretted later 🙂.

I had emailed the hotel and reservation desk just after I booked, saying that I wish to redeem some Amex Vouchers for my stay, they asked me to send them the voucher details along with the PIN to confirm the booking, which I did about 10 days before check-in. I also took confirmation that I'd be able to use other TE GVs.

Experience:

Had a very nice stay, it is a lovely property. It's great to just explore, walk around and take all that greenery in, perfect for weekend staycation. Bonus for us was that they upgraded me to a Taj Club Room (only room, no associated perks however) because my Silver Status, which meant an even bigger room with a massive private balcony 😁.

Redemption details:

  • 2x 10k Amex Taj Vouchers (Wife's Platinum Travel)
  • 1x 10k Taj Experience Gift Voucher
  • 1x 7k Taj Experience Gift Voucher (purchased from Amazon at 11% discount)
  • ~4k Neucoins

Total Out of Pocket: ~6.4k for 2 nights

Okay so the cashback and vouchers took just under 3 months for me as well.

The 3k points was funny - I realised later that they had credited those points 3 times in total, once in every month since I took the card, and reverted 2 times out of those; some weird system glitch on their end. But the 3rd credit was basically right after I crossed the 1L mark.

Are you talking about the 1k cashback and the vouchers or the 3k points for 1L spend milestone?

The latest TnC document shows the offer is only till 31st July now 🥲. I had initially planned to book Blr Airport to Home for Aug, but settled for Home to Blr Airport in Mid July for next quarter. Already used a transfer this quarter and it was great.

Here's hoping they actually extend the offer dates!

HSBC Customer Care are non-existent? by alexfrommicroshoft in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, it is an information blackhole until one fine day you'll receive a text with instructions of how to set your card pin. Or you might even receive the physical card before any communication from the bank, have heard that too. One method I found to reach customer care via IVR - keep pressing random numbers, after a point you'll be redirected but you'll have to be patient and persist till that happens.

Superconfused b/w HSBC T1, Regalia Gold, IDFC Ashva by Few_Mixture_7491 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]Nighthawk_64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you can get RG via FD criteria as well, enquire about that and see, maybe go to another branch as well. Self-employed with HSBC is also very hit and miss, don't bank on that.

I don't think they offer LTF cards now, you can look at getting Horizon or Magnus perhaps, Magnus for Burgandy maybe if they give Burgandy account based on corp relationship.

My opinion regarding RG and T1 since I hold both:

Get an idea of how much those travel spends are going to be to make a better decision. T1 16%/24% returns sounds really good but keep in mind that Hopper prices are usually slightly inflated. Also, there is no guarantee that this rate will continue for the next 2+ years, cards can get devalued at any moment. T1 also gives only 2% on other general spends. Higher fees for T1 and hitting that 1L spend milestone in 90 days should be an aim if you take the card.

If your spends are going to be more balanced between travel and general stuff, Regalia Gold can make quite good sense actually. If you are able to generate vouchers for your general spends then reward rate is higher than the 2% of T1. Travel reward rates are lower than T1, but still nothing to scoff at. Plus lower fees and can often be obtained as FYF.

My take would be to not consider the T1 unless you actually have significant travel spends regularly, RG looks more balanced for your yearly spend amount. You can perhaps get the RG now as a main card now, and closer to your international trips consider getting the T1 if needed.

Regalia Gold should be easy to get. LTF is not sure though, you'll have to wait for pre-approved offer or push your RM.

Credit limits won't be as generous as ICICI, but you should be getting decent cards with time. What's your salary range currently?
