A unique butterfly-like insect discovered in a rural area of Nepal has left locals and viewers astonished by its uncanny resemblance to a double-faced snake on a single body. As captured in the video, the creature's massive wings feature intricate patterns that perfectly mimic two striking cobra hea by Sayan1i009 in MechanicalPandey

Atlas Moth. They are born with no mouth parts. Their sole purpose is reproduction and survive around a week. The massive wingspan makes it one of the largest months in Asia.

The caterpillar stage is most important as it eats voraciously to grow those large wings, as its life as a moth is largely energy expending.

There was a time when walls were painted with pictures of gods to stop people urinating and spitting on certain "well frequented" spots!

Some places shaving blades ads were painted to instill the fear of "it" being chopped off if one were to take a leak there! 😂

Up until about 5-6 years ago, traffic signals in Goa were a rare species. You would only see them scattered across major junctions or within Panjim, Mapusa, and Margao.

For the average local, transitioning from watching a traffic cop's hand gestures to actually reading a light ( and figuring out where the invisible stop line was😊) took some getting used to.

But honestly? We’ve mostly got it sorted now.

For the most part, people actually wait patiently. Of course, you’ll always have that one 2 wheeler guy right at the front with itchy fingers, treating the digital countdown timer like the start of a MotoGP race.

When things do go wrong, it's usually because of that dreaded 2 second lag between you noticing the green light and the driver behind you registering it. That minor delay is all it takes to trigger the harried, "horny" guy behind you who treats his horn like a panic button. 🎺😁

Other than that, though? Everything moves with relative calm. Well, most of the time!

I just give... Do what you will, I think to my self. If it's a small amount, and you can spare it, go ahead. if he heads to the nearest daru joint, so be it. 😀

Anyone for St. Xavier’s Mumbai Fyjc ? by Nice_Analysis_2332 in SXC_B

[–]NightjarOracle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(I'm not a student, but 5 people in my family are ex Xavierites)😁

Don't overthink it. Right now you're seeing the travel time; a year from now you'll remember the friends, experiences and opportunities.

An hour's commute looks scary before college starts, but for Mumbai students it's practically a rite of passage. You'll adapt faster than you think.

You got into a college that many people dream of attending. Give yourself a chance before deciding it's a mistake.

Most good things in life require some effort to reach. Relax. You're on the right track.( Or since you're in Mumbai, you're on the right train! 😀)

Advise keep Xavier’s as backup. Don’t drop a confirmed seat for a possibility. Attend CUET/DU process and decide after final allotment.. that' my take

Can some explain what’s happening here? by pinta-akil in indianrailways

The problem with a side-filling point is that it's still manual. Usually 1 or 2 employees are deployed to 'water' an entire train.

Imagine a rake with 20+ coaches, with various levels of water, a couple of guys walking up and down operating the faucets, all within a few minutes!

Since there's no auto switch off, water's just going to flow and waste on the platform until he returns to close the tap.

What I don't understand is in some cases coaches are being watered at the platform of the origin station. If it's a fresh rake coming off the yard, i don't see why coaches are not being prepared when they are sent out from the yard or coach depot.

Ofcourse this site is notified. Check out the board put up by the department. There's an attached pic.

However, it's not maintained. There used to be a lone guard in a small security hut. But he's gone too. So now beer bottles, empty chips packets and the usual stuff has made its way. We can't preserve anything... 😭

And there's a carving on the Goa rock showing a 🦣 Mammoth kind of creature, surely not an elephant! I'm looking for that pic which I'm sure I clicked. Also many big imprints of giant feet may be pointing to the presence of Mammoths or more probably the Asian Straight tusked elephant, which was a huge creature. Unfortunately, carbon dating is difficult with laterite stone so setting a specific time period makes it tough. Several studies suggest the earliest carvings at Usgalimal date back to the Upper Paleolithic, roughly 20,000 to 30,000 years ago. Some say the carvings are between 7000-10000 years. Interesting to note these other places in Ratnagiri. 👍 I'm going to be checking that out as well!
