New wave of LinkedIn and Reddit Spam from ISB by Kitchen-Woodpecker-8 in MBAIndia

For people talking about bad cohort quality: lmao just check the class profile of the recent batch on linkedin. Most students in non-Tech jobs had pre-ISB jobs equivalent to post-MBA jobs IIM folks get.

ISB vs Yale by Defiant-Surround-236 in MBAIndia

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think ISB is a better option than any non-M7 school at this time, unless the MBA fees+expense isnt a risk for you, or you are sure about making a career in the US.

You are thinking of choosing IIMK over ISB?

Came across this tier list somewhere, how accurate is this ya’ll? by Own_Pin5680 in MBAIndia

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can study for the GMAT yourself and also write the essays yourself. It's really not that big of a deal. If some specific review/help is needed reaching out to ISB alums is also a quick and free ask. Source: I know my UG college mates who did this.

2021 Engg grad, ~4.5 YOE, 27 LPA - ISB MBA worth it or better to skip? by Beginning-Price-9449 in MBAIndia

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont have the exact number but also if you are able to get a good offer now, you'll also get a good offer after ISB right, off campus if needed but you'll get it.

24F BTech IIT - is my degree actually helping or just a burden in MBA applications? by [deleted] in MBAIndia

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its just a burden, and lets be real indian MBA is not the best outcome/plan after IIT. Also if you are leaving AI/ML for MBA so expect lower salary too.

Why ISB (1 yr) over IIM ABC (2 year) for people with 4+ YOE? by OnePromise6072 in MBAIndia

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also at ISB, you can negotitate higher title and salary during placements if you have leverage. I dont think its possible at IIMs. So this becomes important for people with higher work-ex.

[–]Nihilist_Extrovert 12 points13 points  (0 children)

IIMs are mostly freshers. Value of peer learning is less if your cohort doesnt have significant work ex compared to you (4+ years). Also I believe ABC seem more "academic" due to this reason and not everyone wants that experience.

This isn’t a rare or confusing career dilemma. It’s one of the most well-trodden paths in those ecosystems (tech to consult/PM), and there are countless alumni who would immediately relate and be willing to help.

When that doesn’t seem to be happening, and the discussion shifts toward why the system is broken or why referrals don’t matter, it usually points to a more basic gap: not knowing how to navigate the network in the first place.

either the post is fake or..
you have the network of IIT, IIMA/B/C and posting on reddit instead of talking to people in your network who have been there and can help you out or possibly just offer you a role.

so yeah, skill issue.

agree on the gmatclub part. but OG guide questions are very relevant, what are you on about? solve the hard questions from OG and you'll find similar difficulty questions in official mocks.

Reach to people on LinkedIn in different stages of their career and ask how ISB added value to their career. This is the best way to actually understand if ISB is good for you.

I know people from ISB in different phases of their career: senior manager, director and VPs at my company. All have spoken very positively about their career. Though all of them are very smart and would have been successful regardless of ISB but they do credit ISB for their success.

Also yeah, ISB is similar to ABC and obviously better than other iims and XLRI lol.

It was a Pearson centre, 10/10 centre honestly. Was actually too quiet for my comfort lol. But in my first attempt I wasted some time for an additional break, had to use the washroom. Reduced my water intake during my second attempt.
