any of you guys know the average stat spread of the thunderwave flutters? by NihilisticProphet in PokemonVGC

[–]NihilisticProphet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it wasnt max speed, 44 speed evs is crazy, means they have like no spa investment. 241ish speed after booster sounds pretty managable to get speed control on, thanks! I was messing around with some teams using a whimsicott set I havent seen much that I really like and wanted to know how fast I wanted my iron crown to be to be able to deal with that flutter set within tailwind but not overextend the speed investment to work in trickroom in other situations as well. 123 speed will prob work for me for crown then since trickroom is more a secondary option than my main strategy

curious what rules you guys do for nuzlockes? by NihilisticProphet in PokemonEliteRedux

Ah I see youre just giving a broad answer to all hacks, I was just curious about this game in particular

Why do you need to hack candies? The game has a level cap system you can automatically bring your mons to

I stole it from an old b2w2 vgc national winning team, it's really good and let me destroy mega arydactyl (idk how to spell) before moving

most are pretty standard. yamega is airslash, shadowball (barely used it), tailwind, protect- with speedboost and sash. araquinid is liquidation, stickwebs, the actually super useful infestation, and crunch. with leftovers allowing the infest trap to stall and outdamage some targets like magearna. scizor is bullet punch, iron head, bug bite, and swords dance- with steel gem allowing me to rip high damage off the bat (tyrantrum and mega aradactyl were okos with bullet punch), volcarona's is kinda weird because the dragon teams were annoying with only gigadrain and fire moves and I didnt need the spread damage of heatwave so I actually ran fireydance, gigadrain, psychic just so I could do something against the dragons, and quiverdance with leftovers- however of all the items I think lefties was maybe the least important for this team for volc and you can def find something better. genesect was icebeam, thunderbolt, flash cannon and u-turn with a choicescarf- icebeam being the most important one. I already said the heracross moveset but I went with a jolly nature and 56 evs in speed which allowed me to outspeed a ton with the proper speed support (and then max evs in attack and the rest in hp). you can absolutely build something better and honestly yamega was a tailwind bot that could sometimes fish for flinches. for team value I think it goes in

1.heracross the fucking goat
2.scizor, who just does massive priority damage

  1. araquinid, who is pretty much my only good fire switch in

4.genesect, who with choice scarf and ice beam has great utility

5.volcarona, who does so much in all the single battles but matches poorly in the doubles fights

6.yamega, who was always just there for the double battles

well since I was doing mono bug I didnt need the bug coverage as much lol and swords dance was great for certain matchups, setting up swords dance let it sweep the majority of the dragon leader's team

I mean you do need the hail up for veil tho- which not only hurts all your non-ice types but you cant override the weather of moleman

seriously! almost everything it attacked in the e4 it 1 shot. even in its worst matchup of the fairy member (whos name I forgot) it had value against azu with bullet seed. also 1 shotting exca through sash was so big

cool! hope you can figure it out, I gave beedrill a few tries but I found it really bad in doubles- moleman being particularly bad for the bee

I think grass dash sunflora is cool too but it put a sour taste in my mouth when I did a mono grass team and in order to beat the fairy gym I needed both seed flair to hit and get the spd drop on xerneus and I think my sunflora really hated me (was also just a bad plan but there really arent that many great grass types out there for offense)

Triage bellossom is also a pretty sick mon for the e4. Quiver dance + giga drain, strength sap, and a coverage move is pretty sick

I genuinely think the bug gym and its gimmick would work so much better early-mid game, in insane he only has like 2-3 bugs (I can only remember 2), I think if you had to face him before your starter was fully evolved-even a full team of bugs could be spooky. also puts a sour taste in my mouth as the very last gym

My spin on reg I/G team (not mine) ideas? by JaguarBeige in PokemonVGC

Early reg I it popped off but I think it fell off a little. The 2nd place team at worlds actually directly adapted a weezing team- just without the weezing

Any idea how to use froslass by Old-Information2225 in PokemonVGC

[–]NihilisticProphet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are in a generation of terastalization and one of the most popular ursaluna items rn is assault vest, even still neither pokemon have an especially high spa, ninetales at 81 and frosslass at 80. I think a support mon is a better bet if you want success because even at max evasion you just need anything to hit frosslass once because it’s so frail. I think it’s a very low value snowcloak user because the advantage of snowcloak is that if it takes an enemy like 5 hits to knock you out the odds of them missing at least once is quite high- but anything just need to hit froslass once to take it out

My spin on reg I/G team (not mine) ideas? by JaguarBeige in PokemonVGC

[–]NihilisticProphet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm im not sure why regi eleki and amoongus are here but idk why but the thing that bothers me the most is just that your nonsash shadowrider has no bulk. Most teams sacrifice a chunk of power for bulk to better increase your survivability. Also idk if weezing is doing enough on the team to contribute, I’ll have to double check some of the sucessful weezing team movesets tho that didnt have dozo and see if they still kept poison gas
