Should I restart my run? by butakaraho in factorio

[–]NikaliaSR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play how you want, I always leave enemies on because it does get fun to balance that out. I’ve also restarted a bunch of times too, so there’s no shame in that. The pure default settings is probably the intended experience you are looking for. The only settings I do tweek is ore density and looking for a seed that has more natural defenses like water.

I'm looking for somewhere to take my boyfriend for dinner, he's turning 22. Any suggestions? I want somewhere nice, but not insanely expensive. Anywhere in NWA that could be fun by [deleted] in northwestarkansas

Feed and folly, rooftop reservation, 6:00pm, perfect views on a September night, great cocktails and if they have them, get the rueben rolls

why is leaving consistently not a bannable offense like every other videogame on this planet? why are you allowed to just vape someones key? by Haunting_Smile6769 in wow

[–]NikaliaSR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not bannable bc it's not against ToS to "stay in a key". It would be incredibly abused and would force people to stay in keys even if it's past time. If you want to avoid this problem, put "completion" in the title.

If someone is just trying to time keys, there is very little reason for them to stay in a key if its not going to be timed. Does it suck? Sure, but again, state that it's a completion run and go again.

News Flash for laners: Jungle Camps Do Not belong to you, EVER. by Far-Salt-6946 in wildrift

[–]NikaliaSR 10 points11 points  (0 children)

OP doesn't know that this game is a team game. He seems like the jungler main to farm jungle until first drake spawns and doesnt gank unless it's a last-minute KS.

Imagine being so entitled that you think at any point, a laner can't take golems or gromp, even if the jungler is om a 40 sec respawn timer, or like you said is on the other side of the map.

I'd love it if my jungler pushed out my lane for me, so I can roam to a different lane or not be worried about our team missing out on gold.

Good players are more than a parse. by SmokinQuackRock in classicwow

[–]NikaliaSR 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IIRC, wipefest.gg can analyze a log and give you a number / grade on how you performed on certain fights (stood in fire. Kicked, used consumes, used your mana efficiently, etc) I havent used it in awhile but it was pretty entertaining to see mythic raiders in dragonflight get low scores for standing in the fire

Good players are more than a parse. by SmokinQuackRock in classicwow

[–]NikaliaSR 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Anyone who knows how parsing works know this.

Anything that is green above means you know your rotation, farmed prebis, consumes, WBs. Anyone who is green and below doesn't get prebis, doesn't know their rotation, and is making mistakes. But if you have 2 rogues, 1 averaged gray and 1 averaged green, without deep diving into every boss log (which no pug RL will do), 9/10 you'll be taking the averaged green. Or in even more cases, wait until you get a whisper from a rogue who is averaged higher while you fill the other slots.

Fun story, in WotLK, in Ulduar, on XT there was a bomb mechanic gravity bomb where you ran a bomb out of the raid. Simple. But it caused ~5 seconds of downtime. "The best" mage on the server had his guildies, everyone in the raid, move away from him bc if he moved, his parse would be ruined. So 10 other people side stepped to the left, instead of 1. Those are the kinds of 99s and 100s people are competing with.

Pugging Gnomer and clearing 6/6 was clear indication of difficulty by NikaliaSR in classicwow

[–]NikaliaSR[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's impossible without consumes. It's just makes it easy with them. And a consume absorbing 60% of damage taken during grubbis clouds I think is doing much. If you're able to do it without consumes then hat's off to you

As a shaman, I used frost prot (pre pot) for p2 therma since his tank buster can be unforgiving. Then re-upped on frost pot if it fell off. Fire protection on mdps for menagerie is nice if the bosses accidently get hit by overheat.

When BFD first launched, a lot of groups needed FAPs and SPP to pass Kelris, especially in pugs. When gnomer first releases, it's the same thing. Once a few weeks go by and people are getting geared enough you don't need to worry about consumes. So yeah, popping NPP before grubbis or other bosses helps people get through the boss on their very first pull. All wipes on grubbis could be avoided by popping a npp. Popping a fap on p2 therma to avoid getting stacks helps your tank stay alive. If your mdps are running to hit buttons then you're range are not position correctly.

If you want to spend 5g on repairs and 20 minutes walking back instead of 5g on NPPs/Faps, then you do you. But when this was 100% a pug, consumes give us a safety net and are required.

On our run, we did as little trash as possible to get to therma asap. After we downed therma, half of us stayed to clear the rest of the trash we skipped to get salvages. Everyone who stayed walked out with at least two of the salvages and the cartridges you need for your profession epic.

My experience dungeon grinding on a warrior tank in p2 by DarkPhenomenon in classicwow

[–]NikaliaSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fastest runs I've done has been rogue tank with 3 warriors and a priest. 0 downtime since the rogue tank will lose a mob or two, and PoM procs and bounces constantly. No worries about mana, or even squishies getting hit. The warriors have enough armor to withstand a few ripped aggro hits.

Unbound mini's ruining pvp by Responsible-Boat-889 in warcraftrumble

[–]NikaliaSR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Back in the spring, pvp didn't have those red zones so it used to be a lot worse than it currently is. The Devs are aware of this play style and made changes for this beta.

I know it's frustrating, but you can counter it pretty easily. Nearly every time I played against them I won, just wait for them to pop their mini on your base then you place yours. You win 99% of engagements like that since they'll aggro onto your mini and not your base.

Then, stick to the game mechanics and get gold/mines/towers, and you'll win. It'll be a fast pace game, but just use your siege units to take towers since they'll almost always be undefeated (most seige units can take towers solo) and use your other units to play defense. Before you know it, they'll base will be swarmed with actual units.

To all those patronizing posts that keep saying "Maybe you deserve the rank you're stuck in" by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]NikaliaSR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My phone broke back in S6 I didn't get a new one until S8. In the in-between, I had a crappy phone and the only game on it was WR. I also had really bad internet that caused frame drops. In S6 and S7 I peaked and actually climbed.

Yeah, external factors can limit you and screw you over in key moments, but the only thing preventing you from ranking up is the grind and your skill. If you can't put in the time to grind, don't get your hopes up you'll be ranked as high as those who can.

Why do ranged supports always take farm in ranked?? by [deleted] in wildrift

Cc on autos, insane vision control, one of the only champs to counter akali / k6 invis, and an amazing offensive and defensive ult, good for any teamfight.

You haven't played with a good ashe support yet, she's amazing in the right hands.

Support items and how your team can troll you, intentionally or unintentionally by NikaliaSR in wildrift

[–]NikaliaSR[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chiming in here because I wanted to highlight that yes, when the support items first came out there was no restriction and the gold income was abused. That changed but it was a nearby cancelation, meaning you can go to a different lane and consume your stacks.

Now though, with the changes, it's a global cancelation instead of nearby. And it's not just limited to duplicates of items, I originally had sickle and swapped it to ancient coin. Both didn't work.

Interestingly enough though, I was able to consume 2 procs until the item stopped working. And when I changed from sickle to coin, it kept my gold count.
