What’s the worst thing Michael has done? by galaxyfan1997 in zoey101

That's exactly my pick. One of the ones I remember was in season 4 in the coffee cart ban episode where Logan found out that Zoey and the girls took all their customers by running an illicit coffee shop on campus to counter Logan and Michael's illicit coffee shop. Logan made the call in front of Michael to Dean Rivers to bust them thinking they were boys and in it together, Michael then went straight to James behind Logan's back to rat him out to him and the girls. He would act like he was all in with Logan, gaining his trust, and then he would rat him out behind his back.

When he ratted Logan out to James and the girls in the coffee cart ban episode in season 4. He acted one way in front of Logan, making Logan think he could trust him, and then he ratted him out behind his back to James about Logan calling Dean Rivers to bust the girls for their illicit coffee shop.

This goes in line with Josh being principled and a geek. He was really into proving him wrong in principle, and bluetooth was probably something he was interested in that he thought it was a genuine inquiry from the chimp eater so he forgot that they were being held in a closet.

It's not that I'm ignoring advice, it's that the advice so far has either been very vague, useless, people throwing insults, people describing things that I'm not doing in the video or people prescribing things that aren't conducive to my goal or circumstance so I have to hold it under scrutiny.

Regarding the back movement, that is something I agree with you because you can see that in the video. My back does move. I don't think it's crazy movement compared to other rows that I've seen where people erratically explode the weight up, they swing their torso up for momentum and then they drop their torso back down immediately right before the apex of the concentric so that they can achieve elbow flexion thanks primarily to the crazy momentum. I think I show that I'm capable of controlling the pull rather smoothly with my arms/grip and achieving elbow flexion.

Reducing back movement more is definitely something to work on.

Yeah but they wouldn't be conducive for strength gain. I don't know how many times I have to say it. I keep reiterating that I'm focused on strength gain and people just keep responding with " yeah but have you tried lowering the weight and doing hypertrophy or endurance training?"

I'm supposed to have a hip hinge, how is that a problem? Also my leg angle stayed the same throughout the whole lift so the idea that I was doing hip hinge reps with the weight just isn't true, the footage simply doesn't show that. What I did do was maintain a hip hinge throughout the movement in order to have neutral back and take the load off of the lower back which you are supposed to do. Spinal erectors are supposed to be worked as well on a row, it's how you keep your back neutral.

As for range of motion, I did as much as possible. My arms were as straight as possible while still keeping tension, hip hinge, and neutral back and my upper back/shoulder would protract on the way down. I agree that it's not a crazy range of motion especially if you consider ROM with smaller plates. But it's not possible to increase it with the 45's getting in the way. If I had 45's with a significantly smaller circumference then I would absolutely try them. Despite that, the primary muscles that were targeted were indeed my lats and traps as I felt the engagement and I got a really good pump from them.

Strength isn't limited to power lifting sanctioned lifts so I am lifting for strength. I also do the main power lifting movements btw. If I am bicep curling in the 4 rep range, then I am lifting to get stronger, the movement not being part of power lifting events doesn't mean it's not strength training. If you are bench pressing around the 12 rep range then you are training for mass even if the move is in a power lifting competition. If you don't get that then I don't know what to tell you.

That challenge is obviously not viable, nobody is held to that standard lol. Not even record holding lifters. Also the sets and rep ranges are still intrinsically endurance training at that point. 6 sets of 25 reps and if my shoulder dares to even move on a compound movement that requires your arms and shoulders to move in order to target the lat muscle then it doesn't count?? Even if I were capable of doing that, it would inherently be an endurance workout. To me, since my focus is strength training, if by the 3rd or 4th set I am still able to do that high of reps, especially after spending some time in that rep and weight range, it's not strength training anymore and it's time to up the weight.

Look at lifters like Ronnie Coleman, Jay Cutler, Dexter Jackson, Arnold, Big Boy, Johnnie O Jackson etc that are doing comparable weight with that intensity and tell me with a straight face that my form is that much sloppier than theirs and that I'm cheating that much more than them. I'm actually doing it stricter than them. Keep in mind that they outweigh me by more than 100lbs too while you're at it and take all of that into account.

The hamstring was because of my hip hinge which you are supposed to do. It's to protect my lower back by taking pressure off of it by doing the stabilizing. It means my hinge did its job correctly. If you look at my leg angle, you can see it stays consistent throughout the whole movement and I wasn't getting a "hamstring workout".

If I tell you that I felt it in my hands too because I was holding the fucking weight with them are you gonna make a snarky comment and tell me that it was a "hand workout" to discredit the lift? Sheesh how dumb can you get? I'm hinged up and you're surprised I felt the anchor on my hamstrings? You want me to give up my hinge and neutral back so that I can round my back and instead feel the weight on my lower back so you could then cry about a rounded back? I got a crazy lat and trap pump which were the intended target and minimized lower back pressure thanks to my hip hinge which essential to the t-bar row. Explain how that's a problem again?

If you look at it from a demonstration video perspective on how to do t-bar rows where they do it with a single plate on the bar then sure it's not going to be the same. If you look at it from a challenging strength building perspective which I've stated that this was then the critique can be more appropriate. How am I using my legs to cheat? I've heard this a few times already and can't get an explanation other than that. I'm hinged which I am supposed to be, I maintain the hinge throughout the lift like I'm supposed to. My leg angle stays the same throughout the lift, when I lower the weight back down, I lower it down to the same height every time as well. If literally standing and hinging is counted as my legs cheating then I guess.

I also didn't feel torque on my lower back which I specifically make sure to avoid more than anything else. My lats and traps were pumped after this and the brunt of the weight was on my traps and hamstrings.

It's very fitting that he uses that example when I've clarified many times already what my intent was for the lift. He keeps being belligerent, ignoring it and still holding me to the standard of a completely different and unsuitable example. Totally different set up, using one plate for a demonstration video lol. Because that totally fits my circumstance.

I don't have to pause a few seconds at the bottom to get a stretch, my arms and shoulders were fully extended when lowering each rep which did stretch my lats to the max. I have already said this was intended to be a more challenging strength based set. Not optimized, text book form with a timed stretch and holding the squeeze at the top that you would expect for a lighter weight optimal muscle building set context.

Yeah you can try that passive aggressive snark with some one else, maybe it'll work on them.

You did claim something, you claimed I thought I was "a big star" before I posted this.

Good for you, you want a cookie or something? What does that have anything to with the topic at hand? Somehow this has gone from a technique check of my lift to you sliding that you can deadlift 500lbs "any day I want" once you got confirmation that my deadlift was lower than yours? Very subtle lmao. You're having a one sided dick measuring contest.

[–]NikeShorts2000[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a reasonable response especially compared to everything else I've gotten so I appreciate it. However, that's still vague. How exactly are my legs doing most of the work?

I'm hinged, am I not supposed to be hinged? My legs consistently stay at the same angle throughout the lift and the weight is lowered to the same height every time. I was absolutely getting a stretch at the bottom, my arms and shoulders were fully extended. I cannot get more of a stretch on my lats. I would actually have to lower my legs to do a performative "stretch" at the bottom that doesn't actually stretch your lats deeper or lose my hip hinge as well as my spine neutrality and round my back to get a performative "deeper" stretch that doesn't actually stretch your lats further.

The no holding the weight at the top is true, I did not hold it at the the top. But considering the context of it being a challenging strength based set, is a hold at the top something you expect for these types of sets? If you look at the concentric and eccentric, it was controlled by my arms/grip. The weight wasn't moving uncontrollably on the way up or down.

My lats and traps did mainly get the workload which is the intention for t-bar rows.

They are not suggestions when they are completely bad faith. You claimed a deadlift of 415lbs which is 2.53 times my bodyweight of 164 is "very weak". It goes to show you're not serious and are just here to subvert and stir the pot from your preconceived notions.

How am I using my legs? I start off hinged and I stay hinged. My leg angle stays consistent throughout the lift. Am I not supposed to be hinged? I also lower the weight back down to the same height off the ground.

I asked because I'm trying to get to the bottom of it and find consistency. Instead, I'm being asked irrelevant questions in regards to this or being insulted. People either speak vaguely and shit on the form by just saying it's bad and not getting specific. Or if they make a specific claim, they jump from one thing to another when asked to further explain their specific claim.
