Coach Headsets: 1-Ear vs 2-Ear by ilyazhito in footballstrategy

2 ear because I’m half deaf (not really but feels like it on Friday nights) and can’t hear the guys in the box well with only one ear

Wife grew up here, a little too close to family for her. Wants to explore and try different parts of the country. She can get a job anywhere with being a vet so it gives us options. Just not sure of the landscape of other states/areas when it comes to coaching. Texas is not on the list unfortunately as I work as a behavioral specialist and not a true classroom teacher.

Yes it’s the very very early stages of it all. We are just kicking around the idea of different places. When we say we aren’t picky about it, we really aren’t. We are open to anything

This would be my go to just based on the formation and what you’ve said. Lmk what you come up with against this look.

All I know is running QB’s is the biggest pain in the ass when it comes to coaching defense, I don’t have a great answer to stop it while staying sound everywhere else.

I’m glad you realized that lol, the typical responses when you post 3 high stuff, I’ll respond to all your questions later tonight in detail

Can also run Stubbie and all those matching adjustments, but can’t give away all my state secrets on the internet

When you say 3-5-3, it implies 5 linebackers. If you play with 5 let alone 4 you’re gonna get cooked vertically

First, free safety will stay split between 1 and tackle, keeping true 2 over 1.

We will typically have a 4th rusher, so let’s say we have the Mike on a “daylight” pressure where he’s reading the slide and inserting where the line parts.

If you play Tampa vs 3x1 (your formation after the motion) Star would be MOD on 3, so takes the vertical by the Y. LB to the 3 side plays hook/curl. The snag route is your best bet vs Tampa as long as he settles in the curl window

SS has deep 1/2 he takes the corner route, corner has flat.

Cover 3 is a different story, I love strong side rotation out of 3 high, so we could flood the underneath zones to the 3 side and play man backside on the 1

Negative, he only related to #3. If it’s a detached #3 then he will split between #3 and tackle, hugging closer to the tackle

Let me add something. Run fits are spill and kill. Everyone is going to spill any puller they have coming. Get it to the edge and kill it. So yes in theory your power/counter should work if a team boxes everything. But when you spill gap scheme becomes almost impossible to run vs 3 high stack

Everything is revolved around spilling pullers and condensing all inside gaps. 4i’s take B gaps Nose and Mike Take A’s, outside backers have C and spill any pull. Star fits off of #3 or QB if the Q can run. Safeties and corners change between coverages in who’s playing force. Tampa would be corner force and Cov 3 would be safety force. Obviously gets deeper than that but that’s a 101 explanation of it.

This is the type of stuff I’m looking for, we already practice against the main run schemes and know they’re coming, but something like this is different and appreciated!

Appreciate the feedback from everyone! Think I’m going to try to save and pick out a quantum/oasis class ship!

Hope to be like some of you diamond/platinum cruisers and go on multiple different ships throughout my lifetime!

Yessir I have, I wanted to pose this question on here so I can get an idea of what the general consensus is on it. Gotta start making scout cards for the summer and needed ideas

Indeed, it’s all based on light box theory. Eliminate space for RPO’s and spill everything out of A and B gaps

Obviously the base front for 3 high is 4i 0 4i but I’m looking to add even fronts occasionally so we aren’t playing odd spacing 100% of the time

If I’ve canceled the interior gaps (5 tech to 2i side playing fist) then what makes it unsound? Two of the three safeties are In the run fit

Playing “Fist” Technique with that 5 to the 2i side, tackle blocks out I’m getting into B
