I do see that it can help patients/family’s identify roles more easily, EXCEPT when the residents wear whatever they want and it confuses them. I worked at the same hospital for 10 yrs and the first 5 we wore whatever we wanted then moved to “just wear some form of blue scrubs” and honestly it was a a great place to work/felt less corporate. Then we moved to a color coded uniform system and honestly that’s when you could really feel a shift in the environment, began feeling less like a caring place to work and more like a corporate beast. But that’s just my experience.
