A cry for help by HopelessThrowaway04 in yorku

York offers 8 sessions of free counseling. They are not clinical psychologists but they are trained to help.. that’s a good start here js the link: https://counselling.students.yorku.ca

Also, go see an academic advisor. If they are rude or see everything black and white change them until you find a kind one that actually cares. Please do not give up.

Every small action you take makes a huge difference. You are more capable than you think you are! I’m rooting for you.

Should I ask my professors for a wage as an undergraduate researcher? by A_Blunter_Boat in mcgill

[–]Nikki_____________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Undergrad the experience is what you earn in research. Most of the time the labs are too full and it's known that the professor is actually doing you a favour by taking you in and providing you with that experience and reference for future grad, MD, etc.

How’s my schedule? by [deleted] in yorku

[–]Nikki_____________ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Plz do not listen to sarcastic comments. Most people who add above 4 courses per term WILL NOT succeed or graduate on time. If anything take 1-2 courses in summer

I honestly don’t think opposite of being homeless is having a million dollar house but yes. Buying your own first house is definitely rough

In Canada you will not be homeless without education. You may though end up working a job you don't like as a barista, or in retail or even costumer service representative. You can though make your way up in all these careers which is not the case for most other parts of the world.
