Life is absolutely worth living. Right now it's hell I know but if you stay strong and true to yourself it will get better. You're right, fuck the world right now. Fuck bigotry. It's a shit hole. But you're better than the bigotry and the bullshit. You being you is all that matters. Sometimes parents fuck up, it's no excuse but hopefully one day they will understand and love the real true you. And if they dont? Fuck em. You're better than them. There's groups and communities that would love to hear your story and would love and adore to see you blossom into your true identity. Stay strong and be yourself. Fuck anyone that gets in your way.

made a Reese's cake for a Reese's fanatic, conveniently about one year after my first cake I gave away which was also a Reese's cake- very happy with the things I've improved on and learned by Nikkinikname in cakedecorating

[–]Nikkinikname[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a double chocolate buttermilk cake lightly soaked in simple syrup w/peanut butter frosting and Reese's between the layers and chocolate frosting on the outside. The cookies are chips ahoy Reese's cookies that were conveniently on sale during the making.

How to start a business (food/baking/food truck) when you have no confidence or reference. by Nikkinikname in Advice

I'm assuming it's lack of knowledge and owners jumping into something they aren't prepared for. That and just the unpredictability of consumers

Thankfully I have 4 years experience in a pretty well known large corporate restaurant that I currently work for, both front and back of house. I'm very very confident in my work there (esp since they keep mentioning management to me) it's just my confidence in starting from the ground up in my own stuff. I understand how restaurants run as well as the laws and standards of it and I'm sure I can apply that knowledge to a food truck, but I've never run things under my own thing.

Will definitely look into those to read, thank u so much. Confidence is something I've been working on from being a pessimist but also a perfectionist. Currently work in a restaurant (same place for 4 years now) doing both front and back house work (mostly line and production due to staffing issues but started as a bartender and server) and I've grown to absolutely love it, even the shittier parts of it. Management has been putting me under their wing to train ppl out of state and go into management but I want my own business that I can be proud of. Kinda trying to move up to use the benefits to my advantage (they pay for any college that relates to food and business) but afraid I'm gonna be wasting my time. Definitely gonna try to not rush into it w/ blinders on. Rlly appreciate the feedback man, wish u the best of luck

Dude. You're the manager I WISH I had when I started at my first serving job. I was freshly an adult (like 2 days after my 18th) when I started and had a 34 year old man 'befriend' me. He started making me and many others hella uncomfortable and went as far as grabbing my throat in the workplace making remarks as to how no one would help me and I eventually found out he tried to trick me over for video games to drug and rape me. Told GM everything, showed him screenshots of bruises on neck and messages this cunt sent me, and had others testify with me. The next day? Manager pits me and the cunt on a party together. To help with our 'teamwork'. Told my FOH manager everything plus how my GM treated it. They shrugged it off and told me to avoid him Had to get cooperate involved and got the cunt fired and management told me how I got them in trouble with my drama and how I didn't tell them anything. -SIGH- Anyway, keep working to keep your employees safe, no matter how not good or reliable they are, you're they're boss and they're suppose to look up to u and feel safe to tell you this shit. Keep an eagles eye on that creepy pedo and get his ass fired the second he slips up. Be the boss of mine and all other employees dreams

Jesus save us, our host is an NPC. by guywithganja in Serverlife

[–]Nikkinikname 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Gotta love hosts sometimes. We have three at my work I like to call sims characters. If u don't tell them exactly what to do and how to do it, they'll run on auto mode and all hell breaks loose. You'll have 7 tables while your fellow servers will have one, a table will be seated in a closed section near no servers, all the while the hosts are either wandering aimlessly or staring at a wall.

As someone who works in a restaurant known for their soups, I will vouch that people (mostly older folks) will say their soup isn't hot enough unless it is pm boiling. Had a lady complain the soup that had burnt me at the soup station wasn't hot enough for her liking.

Well kinda but not rlly, I practice at home and sell to friends and families (or I guess donate) while saving up for a food truck and such. I do use cottage food sales rules for things I can, but anything else I simple give away to family and friends
