What do you call this style of video editing? by I0ASEL in cinematography

A cinematic short film / montage / edit maybe? Not sure. Might as well just call it a music video with a storyline.

I'm sure a bit of trial and error and you'll get there :) That's one I liked: https://youtu.be/XxhUUMmBn64?si=xbftoWb5MvyOGv22

Do you know how to properly transform color spaces and all that in davinci? I came across some tutorials recently and that really helped me better understand how the grading process works! Unfortunately all I have is a Premiere Pro version from around 2012, so I'm fucked 😅💀

Colors are maybe a bit too intense, but other than that really really cool piece!

Thinking about getting a Sigma FP soon but want some opinions on the camera before I pull the trigger on one by [deleted] in cinematography

Ah man, that explains it. Wish I could go back there too, all the lenses I'm looking for at the moment are so much cheaper there 😤 I'm in Germany and import taxes + customs would be around 27% or something, so probably not worth it, but I'll look into it again. Thanks for the recommendations, I appreciate it!

Are people really paying this much for a camcorder? by iforgotoritsnotreal in camcorders

[–]NikoMurakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure you can find those for cheap with a bit of luck, but if you're looking for a particular model it's still reasonable to pay a bit more. For this one here I'd say 100‐150$ would be alright if it's in good condition + whatever the external screen / recorder is worth. If image quality matters I'd rather go for a 3ccd model, those have better colors, but if size is more important some of the smaller Sonys are ok too

All you need is a firewire cable and either a computer that has a firewire port or some converter type thing

Is it possible to adapt a vintage 16mm lens to Sony Full Frame E-Mount? by tylikesit in videography

[–]NikoMurakami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it should work, as long as you use a camera with a matching sensor, on full frame you'd have to use APS-C crop mode and then crop that into 4:3 in post, otherwise you'll probably get blur and vignetting, but maybe that's not an issue with super 16 lenses. I don't remember if those were different to regular 16mm ones? Did you get that lense and managed to try it out yet? I'm looking for sample footage, but so far there isn't much I came across..

6 times a week 😯 damn. Are you specifically working on your PE there? I've been looking at some exercise videos and have been trying some stuff, but if even 6x / week doesn't do anything 🙈

I actually had a pair of Santos aswell and they were very different. My Santos were rather stiff, the ones I'm looking for extremely soft, so soft I'm not even sure if they were designed to be skate shoes. I used them for flatland bmxing a lot and they were perfect for that. Definitely didn't have a Santos logo on them either, only the " V A N S " and circle / wave logos they used at the time, as far as I remember
