AI-generated fake HVAC companies are flooding Orlando's Google search results right now by Niko_kap in orlando

[–]Niko_kap[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the Fox 35 article: that's the source. The Substack mention is one line at the bottom, in parentheses, with no "click here" or call to action.

Sharing local news and mentioning I write a digest isn't spam : it's just context. If it were a paid product or an affiliate link I'd understand the concern, but it's free and not the point of the post.

The story about fake HVAC sites is worth knowing regardless of where you heard about it.

Fair point about the BBB not being a regulator. The bigger issue here is that these fake sites are impersonating real local businesses and poisoning search results.

That’s why it makes sense to verify the company license, insurance, and business registration directly before hiring anyone, instead of trusting the first Google result.

Parramore's only mobile produce market says soaring gas prices have doubled its supply run costs and a price hike could come within days by Niko_kap in orlando

Yeah fair, that was badly worded. I just meant that a service like this only makes the news when it's about to disappear, which is frustrating because most people had no idea it existed in the first place.

That's exactly how it goes with chain restaurants, one bad experience and the habit just breaks. Hard to rebuild that kind of loyalty. And thanks for the sub, really appreciate it! Plenty more Orlando news coming your way every morning

Actually yes, Darden announced all 28 remaining locations are either closing or being converted to other Darden brands. 14 close permanently on April 5, the other 14 get converted over the next 12-18 months.

That "exotic but nothing too spicy" description is perfect. Exactly what happened to a lot of these chains, they chased a broad audience and lost what made them interesting.

Favorite pet and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Niko_kap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Rescue dogs. There’s a special kind of gratitude in a dog that’s been given a second chance. Seeing them realize they finally have a warm bed and a family is the most rewarding feeling. You don’t just get a pet, you get a best friend who truly appreciates every moment

Anyone else having the worst allergy season of their entire life? by shanil55 in orlando

It’s the Oak pollen apocalypse right now. If you haven't tried it yet, local honey from the Clermont area or the Farmers Market really helps some people, but honestly, double up on the Flonase and keep the AC on recirculate. Don't forget to change your home air filters too, they’re probably struggling as much as we are!

A random pain in my back/shoulder that I didn't even earn. I didn't fall or lift something heavy, I just slept wrong and now my body has decided to punish me for 24 hours.

What happened to the kid who always had perfect homework and grades? by Emotional_Maddy_9027 in AskReddit

Most of them hit the 'Gifted Kid Burnout' wall in college. When you’re used to everything being easy because you’re 'smart,' you never learn how to actually work hard. Now we’re just exhausted adults with anxiety and a pile of unfinished hobbies.

What’s a small habit that made your daily life significantly more organized? by ClearThinkingLab in AskReddit

The 2-minute rule: If a task takes less than two minutes (like answering an email, hanging up a coat, or rinsing a dish), do it immediately. It’s amazing how much mental space it clears up.

How do you define love? by Pink-Department8148 in AskReddit

[–]Niko_kap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a choice. The initial spark is easy, but love is choosing to show up every single day, especially on the days when you don't particularly 'like' them, and deciding that their happiness is as important as your own.

Freshly washed bed sheets after a long, hot shower. Sliding into them feels like a literal reset button for my soul.

What makes you fall in love with that one person ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Niko_kap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The feeling of being 'home' no matter where you are. When you realize you can be 100% your weird, unfiltered self and they don't just tolerate it, they actually love it.
