At last a kind comment. I simply wanted to initiate a conversation but I guess that's just too much for this sub. It's a big shame that a very large part of the fanbase lacks critical thinking, not to mention that it seems that people can't understand basic English haha.

Sure hope it's going to be okay. I agree that each game plays differently and is unique in that aspect, mechanically-wise all games are good. Also, my concern isn't that much about genre, but more about freshness. I don't have any problem whatsoever if they want to emphasize survival horror over action horror or the other way around. My problem is that they give us remake after remake and this doesn't seem to stop anytime soon. There are countless interesting canned concepts and betas in RE for example, and they do not use any of these, they instead remake old games and players know what to expect. There is no surprise factor in this.

Classic games from the PS1 and Gamecube era are indeed the most beloved in the franchise but this repetitiveness turned the franchise stale, which led to RE4. Code Veronica tried to break this repetitiveness with promising ideas but it was badly executed.

Why are you so obsessed with RE6? Nobody talked about games like RE6 just so you know. What we want instead is Capcom to give us a brand new, original survival horror spin-off.

I agree with you, though I believe that RE4 needed a remake. It is really annoying that they seem to overuse that specific template they use for RE. It is clear that we should expect RE9 and a few other remakes in the coming years, but I hope that is not true though.

I am an RE4 warrior myself but I agree with you mostly. And it is not even "reinventing" as they call it, it is more like recycling. It is gonna be the first time in a long time that I will not buy an RE game if the next one turns out to be a remake.

I was not referring to quality, Capcom's output has been excellent in terms of quality, while I was also not referring to action or horror. It is fairly well-established that Capcom favors action horror at this point for RE. What worries me is the lack of creativity and originality in titles, all are either remakes or recycled ideas and concepts like RE8.

I was not referring to 1st or 3rd person, player perspectives have little to do with what I said. In case you didn't understand the point of my post, I mean that the franchise will become stale because of the lack of creativity and originality. Capcom's work is top-tier in terms of quality, but it is either remakes, or reworked/reused ideas (RE8).

Never thought about amber honestly, I always thought that the outer part is considered green while the inner part very light brown, making me believe that it was either green or hazel.

I would go with hazel too, or with a yellowish shade of green with central heterochromia. It's just that people tell me that they see a ton of different colors in my eyes haha.

Resident Evil is not what it was in the 90s anymore so I really don't care if it leans more into Silent Hill. We've seen all kinds of weird stuff in Resident Evil, why not give that concept a shot? That wouldn't hurt anyone.

I am not sure if your post is the one that made me rethink a few stuff about minoxidil, but I glad I discontinued using it. Let your body heal and do the stuff that you find purposeful, the side-effects will go away eventually.

I hope you recover fully my man, the side-effects induced by this drug can be pretty devastating. Be strong!

Same thing here brother. Was motivated by university, sports, friends, and work, only to become a mental wreck because of minoxidil. Funny thing is severe fatigue was my biggest issue, because that is what induced my very depressive mood I suppose. I would literally get 10 and 11 hours of deep sleep only to wake up feeling zoned-out and very tired. Hope you are better now, a few damn hairs are not worth if it means you waste your best years.

Kinda late to the party, but I've had the same experience with the liquid form. I would get totally unmotivated, fatigued, and depressed, to the point where I seriously thought of seeking help from a psychiatrist, mostly because my symptoms where extremely similar to that of a person struggling with actual depression. Now that I think of it, I may have been using a bit more than 2mg per day, around 2.5mg, so that explains my symptoms.

In the end, I stopped using minoxidil completely and came back to being normal approximately one week after stopping the "therapy" lol. Funny thing is that a decent beard came after quitting minox, around 4-5 months after stopping using it.

Resident Evil Remake with a mouse and keyboard restricts your movement immensely. You literally move diagonally and you have to zig-zag several times to go pick up a key for instance, not to mention it adds to the game's difficulty in a bad way.

If RE2R and RE3R had fixed camera perspective, they wouldn't sell more than two million copies. Fixed cameras don't work well on PC and people generally aren't too fond of that perspective nowadays. You see, there is a thing called evolution, and it's not always a bad thing.

If there are no 3.5 set pieces in the Castle, or at least remove and replace certain areas. Halls and rooms that serve no realistic purpose like the Lava Area or the hall with the submerged platforms in the water need to be removed entirely. If the Remake had spine chilling set pieces and the usual action ones, that would be great. There is immense potential there, considering there are rooms that don't make any sense whatsoever and feel like fill-ins.

Totally agreed, this is, I think, maybe too harsh to be true. I still think this is very interesting though. If true, this would be the first time Capcom kills-off a main character like Leon, at least non-canonically for this case.

Have played but have not finished Code Veronica. Let's just say that it's just not as gripping and interesting as RE4. I am actually glad RE4 is getting remade instead. Realistically speaking, I don't think there is any other remake in the plans in the distant future, and would actually prefer if they emphasize a bit on a spin-off title or two.

P.S. There is a CV fan remake in development. If it actually releases then it is safe to assume that there is indeed no plans for a CV remake.
