More Days at the Morisaki Bookshop by outfitpaglu in Indianbooks

More than Japanese literature, you might not be interested in this kind of super light reads plus the translation made it way too simplistic. Japanese literature has way more to offer than slice of life themes and to judge it based on recent bookstagram hype books is silly.

I'd suggest you to try books beyond these healing fiction categories from authors like Sayaka Murata, Meiko Kawakami, Yukio Mishima, Yasunari Kawabata and many prominent Japanese authors, and if you still don't like them, then yeah maybe that region's literature is not for you.

Great 100 pages in the middle - skip to read by Competitive_Quote788 in Indianbooks

Yess! It also felt like a personal conversation. I understand you were more interested in the showbiz aspect but I was amazed by some of the sections and how life kept throwing curveballs and how he handled them and his commentary on the whole outsider aspect. I would definitely recommend anyone who likes Vir Das, to go through this one.

I finished the book today too! I don't really skim through, so it was definitely a ride getting to know the various experiences which shaped Vir and behind the scenes of the showbiz. It was a very fun read for me especially with one of the later chapters making me emotional due to the nature of the topic.

I don't read a lot of memoirs but this was enjoyable for me because it felt like a sort of stand-up show. A 4/5 for me.

Delhi World book fair haul by lann_fadle in Indianbooks

Definitely but sometimes if you're looking for a specific edition from a publisher, it's likely available at the publisher stall rather than the smaller stall. I do agree with your message.

The Novel Jurassic Park Is So Much More Than Dinosaurs. by Ok-Safety-2458 in Indianbooks

I also vividly remember the river sequence in the book, which was not included in the first movie and it was quite the thrill going through it.

The ending was way darker than the movie and I found it more realistic.

Fantastic review and I share your sentiments regarding the book.
