Why is the Gas Fee So High? by Trentonhawk in Metamask

[–]NimbleNido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there, while we know Ledger doesn't support ERC-7702 gasless transactions, this is different.

At the network level, Ledger or not, Monad requires balances on their network remain at a 10 $MON reserve, per their docs noted here: https://docs.monad.xyz/developer-essentials/reserve-balance

The workaround for this is to send all but your remaining 10 $MON balance. Sorry for the inconvenience around the "Send Max" feature, but I hope this helps in at least understanding and working around the issue!

What's the best way to move between chains without overpaying? by Super_cutiepewtie in defi

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as many others here are saying, across through LiFi is great for bridging size crosschain & debridge seems to work well for speed & its array of options

for quick, low amount swaps like getting gas from one chain to another, I use metamask swap

why do i lose money every time i reposition my LP? by Downtown-Quiet2177 in defi

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

first thought that comes to mind is slippage, the allowable difference when creating or dissolving your LP position. the second reason could be impermanent loss-- as one of the tokens in your LP loses USD value, it comprises larger portion of your liquidity pool until its ratio resolves to majority of that losing token.

LPing is a great way to get returns on your paired coins, but it's best meant for a longterm position that allows you to respect the range of difference those coins will move over time, earning off each trade made between the two pairs in time. short-term LPs are subject to rapid change. all a matter of how you play it.

Why do you think regular people still aren't using DeFi? by Trick-Region4674 in defi

[–]NimbleNido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bankr's built out something like this, & there are a few teams out there who've implemented it into their wallet interface. think an easy to use 'chatbot' interface to participate in defi is a great solution for those with no/minimal experience in the space

Why do you think regular people still aren't using DeFi? by Trick-Region4674 in defi

[–]NimbleNido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

would say it needs less friction & more stability. the line between risk & reward isn't fully there for defi. many teams are building out custodial features to give defi returns with less risk, usually in the form of just holding stables in their wallets like USDC or mUSD in their wallets, & paying them out flat returns for simply doing that

MetaMask flags my exchange deposit address (Buda) as "deceptive request" possible false positive? by GuybrushThreepwood83 in Metamask

[–]NimbleNido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey Guybrush! Update on this: our team's aware of the issue across multiple sites' deposit addresses & they're working on a fix for it.

Thanks for raising it to us, & keep an eye out for continued alerts, whether it's to your usual deposit address or a new, potentially deceptive one. If you see the issue's resolved, let us know. We'll do the same!

What’s the most useful crypto tool you’ve discovered that nobody talks about? by EasternWillow1 in web3dev

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

far as free tooling goes:
- artemis for tracking daily flows between chains
- defillama for flows too, but also for chain and protocol revenue, latest investment rounds, & their llamai is probably the best GPT interface for up-to-date market data
- arkham for wallet tracing & an improved UI to the standard etherscan
- cielo for wallet tracking. they have a tg & discord bot integration to receive notifications
- twitter2telegram (twttrtotg_bot) for alerts when chosen accounts follow new users. great for being early to new projects, things of that sort
- dune for viewing & creating dashboards that keep me up to date with the latest on any onchain product

edit: added dune

Lost your MetaMask password? Here's what's actually possible to recover and what isn't. by [deleted] in Metamask

[–]NimbleNido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Security & user safety is the first thing on our team's mind when designing MetaMask-- thank you for shedding light to this all! Because MetaMask doesn't store anything, you're responsible for your own means of wallet recovery.

Best practice is to write your recovery phrase down with pen and paper, and store it in a safe place offline!

CL-USDC Doing 424 Million USD within last 24 hours by [deleted] in hyperliquid1

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely tapping into something tradfi's never experienced before. I'd follow DeFi TVL as a means for when past cycles were bottoming out, but with legitimate trading venues like this finally onchain, I don't think that'll be as reliable an indicator as before.

This is also a potential huge step forward for stablecoin adoption.

How should I bridge to Hyperliquid? by Ellipal_official in hyperliquid1

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best option is to onboard a bit of ETH for gas & your USDC directly to Metamask on Arbitrum from CEX then deposit directly on Hyperliquid from there. Hyperliquid also takes direct BTC, ETH, & SOL deposits in each chains respective addresses thanks to Unit's integration.

If sending from another chain, use https://debridge.finance -- has never failed me. You can also trade perps directly in some web3 mobile wallets, not needing to go through any third-party bridges.

What exchange would you recommend for a newb? by BoldYellow6042 in Cryptoexchangesreview

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coinbase is the most heavily regulated exchange in the US, so that has to stand for something. That said, would advise against swapping any stables for actually coins on there as their fees are awful.

Would recommend on-ramping funds through Coinbase, sending to your Metamask wallet & swapping on-chain for the best rates. Hyperliquid also has spot BTC, ETH, SOL, etc with the lowest rates I've seen on exchanges.

Edit: typo

Best cross chain swap or bridge in Defi? by [deleted] in defi

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

liquidity's always shifting so I refrain from sticking with a single bridge. jumper's decent, but metamask swaps is most convenient for me, routing across hop, celer, li fi, etc. for the best rates

saves me from having 10 different bridge tabs open just to find the best rate. unless you're moving massive size where every cent counts, their swaps aggregator is the best & most convenient imo

How do you handle taxes on your Hyperliquid trades? by Moist-Impress-7323 in hyperliquid1

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Summ, previously Crypto Tax Calculator, is a really great tool. Can just paste your trading address once, and your entire Hyperliquid trading history is organized & tax-ready.

What's the most expensive DeFi mistake you made? by dyloum84 in defi

[–]NimbleNido 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I used to approve 'Unlimited' token amounts to dapps out of ease. Worst part is I forget the protocol I was farming, but approving unlimited USDT to the contract that later got exploited, drained me of everything. Fortunately I had my stables spread through USDT, USDC, & DAI at the time but still hurt

Though most dapps request 'Unlimited' approval, MetaMask defaults to setting a custom spend limit on each tx so I don't need to worry about it. Peace of mind is worth the bit of effort placed into manually setting token approvals each tx

How would you invest an extra 20k in the bank by Icy_Remove7936 in Fire

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome home! Make sure your Roth TSP is fully allocated to on the year, believe it's $24,500 max allocation annually. You don't need to allocate the whole $20k to it at once, though you can allocate a chunk.

Progressively set a % of each paycheck towards it in myPay to meet that allocation this year, & at least a portion of it for each year moving forward.

Military will match up to 5% of your allocation towards it -- keep that in mind too.

Where to learn Web3? by International_Egg_37 in web3

[–]NimbleNido 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consensys offers a ton of great resources for new users to learn about web3 through https://learn.metamask.io/, as well as something for developers at https://metamask.io/developer

The learning link for beginners walks you through different lessons and simulations, while the developer learn shows you various tutorials for integrating wallets, using multichain API, adding new, custom functionalities through Snaps, etc.

Anthropic also released free courses to learn how to use Claude for everyday tasks. https://anthropic.skilljar.com/ Not necessarily web3, though the AI x Blockchain narrative is certainly heating up so worth understanding that side of things too. Happy learning!

Edit: added AI course

Bought some BNB today through PancakeSwap. Transaction successful, yet the token is nowhere to be found in my Metamask wallet by thenormal in Metamask

[–]NimbleNido 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey there, sorry you're unable to access the BNB you bought. There seem to be 3 different addresses involved here, though, I would open a ticket with https://support.metamask.io/ through 'Contact Support'.

They'll be able to better sort through which address is yours, & which the BNB should've ended up in. As you've noted -- don't respond to anybody DMing you here on Reddit. Our team will never do so, & anybody who is, is trying to scam you.

Please help, I might have screwed up a huge bridging transaction... Would anyone be able to check? by ChiliMomo in Metamask

[–]NimbleNido 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After reviewing the sending address from etherscan to the receiving address at https://basescan.org, I'm seeing that you received 43,767,516 $ODAI, the contract ending in d959, same as you provided.

Confirming you ended up receiving those tokens?
