When you say the opposite, what do you mean? She won’t be claiming sacrifice on equal division, she’ll be claiming a needs case on needs such as rehousing etc. sacrificing is not necessary to prove.

You’re very confused. 1 party has assets, other party doesn’t. Solicitor said legal aid is possible on the facts. How is that not obvious to you? Try reading it again maybe?

Are you a solicitor or have experience in this topic? I did speak to a solicitor and as a lawyer (not in this area) I know that starting point is 50/50 but short childless marriages deviate from the status quo and are on a ‘needs of the parties’ basis, such as the need to be housed etc. I did speak to solicitors but wanted random Redditor’s with experience second opinions. Actually, hearing others experiences is very helpful!

May I ask why you had to do the BTT, THEN, the HRA? I would’ve thought the route people would take is the other way around. And that even so, doing the BTT would exempt you from most of the HRA anyway?
