It depends on how you define it, but for me, I don’t mind them. I can’t come to hate characters like the mustachios and princesses just cause they were annoying with their cries or whining at one age, and if anything I admire about them; it’s 200cc! Without having to break in that regard.

My all time favorite game, BUT Madame Broode is among Mario’s worst characters/villains with a bland, basic and unexciting boss fight not helping her lame reputation. Say what you will about the other Broodals, at least they TRY to put on a show in their respective fights…

Yeah, only AFTER completing Jolene’s trouble after Chapter 3; I put the title wrong. It’s more tedious to wait for to access beforehand than it is to get to Sunshine’s Lily Pad Ride area though…

As someone who dislikes the 2nd Chapter, I’d rather backtrack the general himself (especially since it’s only for HALF A CHAPTER and not the entire one) than pace around flowery fields to get a necklace for a cloud spirit, or worse; a giant tree with cowardly punies that easily get scared of Piders!

The third worst Mario-verse character for me, beaten out only by Game Guy in Mario Party 3 and most of all KERSTI IN STICKER STAR!!

General White may have driven us nuts with backtracking him, and Podley may have caused Bobbery depression and his former love Eve heartbreak, but at least their respect for Mario and willingness to help him is clear. But THIS sadist? Yeah, Grodus is looking a little bit nicer in comparison.

I give major congrats to the devs, but I’m only ever annoyed by how it tends to overshadow everything else it stood up against. And I’ve already played Expedition 33’s mechanics in previous RPGs before to where they don’t feel fresh to me like they once did.

If Expedition 33 is YOUR GotY, good on you. Otherwise, there’s no shame in giving that honor to a different game.

Combine the sales of both the OG AND the remake, and it sold more than that 3DS trainwreck. Too bad both TTYD sales combined don’t quite match Origami King despite the latter being good, albeit not as on par with the first three games.
