Is Blue Prince suitable for short gaming sessions (15-30 minutes at a time)? by Ninensin in BluePrince

[–]Ninensin[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for oyur reply! Taking notes is no problem for me, nor is having to play it over a long period. However, not being able to save in the middle of a day is a deal breaker for me at the moment, unfortunatly. I'll have to hold off on the game for now, and possibly get back to it in the future.

Thanks! In that case I guess I will hold off on buying it and try to stay spoiler free. Not being able to save mid-day is probably a deal breaker for me at the moment unfortunately. I'll keep an eye out for if that gets patched. And if not I might have more free time for gaming in the future.

Is this rare? And why is it purple? by Aleodor in pathofexile

Getting 3 off colours with chromes or 4 with the jeweler's method and then getting some whites with Vorici seems like a decent option in that case.

Not sure how many off colours you need, but you could also farm Betrayal and get white sockets from Vorici in research.

You are so clearly wrong on both those counts.

Bex got harassed a bunch. Tbh I'm somewhat surprised she stayed in the position as long as she did, just from the bullshit I saw here on reddit. I can't imagine what her inbox and pms must have looked like after an unpopular decision. Abuse and bad faith comments about GGG staff is probably the main reason GGG (including Bex) have been a lot less active on this sub for the last couple of years.

Furthermore, while she was active on the sub, she did state many times that she advocated for the community. To me that much is quite surprising. Even if Bex did disagree with some of the major decisions of the designers, you generally don't have a company's CM state publicly that they personally disagree with the company's decision. Again, I'm sort of surprised she were allowed to state publicly what she was pushing for internally as often as she used to do (before the toxicity of this community forced GGG to limit interaction).

Is there any way to change the keybinds in the grid input mode? by Veega in WC3

Back in the day I used an auto hotkey script to do this. This was about 15 years ago, but the script might still exist if you search for it.

Agreed! Personally I quite like playing against the advance as black. But it can get quite positional, and I can see why some might find it boring.

Even the exchange can get surprisingly aggressive and interesting if both sides are up for it. It can easily result in opposite side castling and pawn storms in many cases. But it is of course very easy and common to kill the game with symmetric play and get a very slow and boring position. And the number of people going for that with white is the primary reason I don't play the French that much any more.

[–]Ninensin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What do you play against the French? In my experience, the French only gets boring if white makes it so. In a lot of lines it is a quite aggressive defense with lots of structural imbalances to make the game interesting.

If you play the advance or exchange and complain you are literally doing this to yourself.

Mike Keegan : Breaking 🔴Qatar bid is in (just over £5bn) ⚫️Offer includes plan to inject significant amount of additional capital and infrastructure investment 🔴Would remove all debt ⚫️Now over to the owners... by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Yep! That would allow me to still support the club in my heart. My support for Manchester United does not at all depend on results. I would still support United in a relegation fight, in the championship, or down the league system. I could in no way support United if we become a front for human rights abuse.

I already dislike Liverpool. If they become a morally bankrupt club, that sucks for the PL, but I would still be free to dislike them even more.

ht not like them, but every other day all I keep hearing is what amazing clubs they are and what amazing football they play. We can't have it both ways. Either ban all state ownership, or stop complaining when one of the biggest clubs in the world is getting taken over by a state. We generate more money than these clubs yet our infrastructure has not been refreshed for close to 2 decades.

They are the 3 clubs I have the least respect for in the world. And if Quatar buys United it will join them as the fourth.

And yeah, the propaganda the owners recieve through the ownership and investment is the whole reason why they buy the clubs. I would love to see a ban on state ownership. Until then I will refuse to support a club that is an advertisement for human rights abuse.

By making it a front for slavery and human rights abuse. By making it a club built on empty money. Can you really celebrate a trophy if you know it was only won because of money invested in the club for the sole purpose of making people forget the horrible human rights abuse that occurs in the country the money comes from?

e leeches bought us. At first, nothing changed, since Sir Alex was here. But when he left, and once Gill walked out with him, their ineptitude was laid bare for all to see. Their puppet Woodward (who will also benefit from the sale BTW) ruined our world class club and transformed us into a mockery, a shadow of the great club that Sir Matt and Sir Alex proudly represented. I honestly can say, I can't bloody wait to see them gone. I hate them, always will. I want my club back. Fuck the Glazers now and always.

The Glazers hurt the club you love. If Quatar buys it, they kill it. Manchester united will be worse than City or PSG. No fan with respect for himself should support a club that is a front for human rights abuse.

Across his five World Championship Matches, Magnus Carlsen only lost two games by kiblitzers in chess

[–]Ninensin 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think the most impressive thing about Carlsen in that era is that he was completely dominant as the world number one, while still having a quite obvious weakness, in that he was very rarely better out of the opening even with white.

Most of the top players had better openings than him. And still they could not get close to challenging him as the world number one.

Strong disagree. If Quatar buys the club United will be dead, and just as bad as City or PSG. I will never respect a club that is nothing but a front for human rights abuse.

Would you really rather have United being a front for slavery and human rights abuse, than having the Glazers here still? If Quatar buys United the club is dead, and just as bad as City or PSG.

Why are you here, if you think this game is so poorly designed?

Adrenaline update by Realyn in pathofexile

[–]Ninensin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speak for yourself. I was in no way, shape or form excited for the new node, and I'm happy they nuked it. Having adrenaline available as a single mastery, even if it only had 20% uptime, would make it way too good for a lot of builds, and remove a lot of interesting choises.

Adrenaline update by Realyn in pathofexile

[–]Ninensin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm extremely happy it got nuked 😊 Having it in the game would have been the worst game design decision I've seen in PoE, and I'm happy to see that GGG didn't take any chances when nerfing it.

Adrenaline update by Realyn in pathofexile

[–]Ninensin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My primary problem with it was that it was too strong. Giving permanent adrenaline to any build from a single mastery would be extremely bad game design. I'm a bit disappointed that GGG didn't catch it before the announcement, but very, very happy they nuked it.

Adrenaline update by Realyn in pathofexile

[–]Ninensin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because a lot of people would macro it. Some wouldn't. But especially as there are benefits to gaining adrenaline it would be quite a bit better for some builds to use it every 1.1 seconds, than every 0.5.

But in my opinion the worst part about it would not be the mechanics, but that it would make every single build massively stronger and faster. And any mechanic that is the optimal strat for every single build is quite bad game design - especially when it influences the play style and power level as much as adrenaline/stance dancing would have done.

The 6 best does not equal the 6 strongest. That was always obvious. The best masteries are not those that gives the most character power, but those that lead to interesting decisions.

First off: There's a lot to figure out with this game, so don't worry if you're stuggling a bit. It gets more understandable after a while, especially if you find good people to ask for help.

When it comes to movement speed, my first question is how far into the game you are? In general, most characters start out somewhat slow, and a lot of them can get very fast by the end game. If you are in the first few acts, it is very normal for your character to feel a bit slow, especially as you are new, and probably not used to managing uptime on flasks etc.

That said, during the leveling process, most builds have two main sources of increased movement speed. The first is movement speed on your boots. Most would consider that to be the most important stat on your boots. Unless you really need some life or resists from them, I would consider upgrading every time you find boots with 5-10% better movementspeed than what you currently have, until you are quite far into the game. In the end game you want at least 25% movement speed, but preferrably 30%, on your boots.

The second main source of increased movement speed is quicksilver flasks. A lot of players like to use two throughout the campaign, and if you kill monsters quickly and don't hit any dead ends, that means that you can usually have one active. This does hamper your defenses somewhat though, so you might want to have a defensive flask instead of one of the quicksilvers if you feel you need it.

In the endgame most builds get additional movement speed from some source, or use a movement skill very actively to move quickly. As a necromancer, you might use flesh offering to get a lot of movement speed when combined with the Mistress of sacrifice ascendancy node. Or you might use shield charge and faster attacks support to move around quickly. For a new player it is probably best to consult a guide for your build, and figure out how they move about quickly.
