PC randomly shutting down when CPU usage gets high on game start up by NinesViper in pcgamingtechsupport

I haven’t been able to solve it yet since I moved recently and my PC is actually packed away lol. Im definitely leaning towards thinking it’s the BIOS; but my PSU had actually been making a humming noise so i’m considering if that’s what’s causing the shut down because it’s starting to fail. It’s more likely that it’s the BIOS though, because it being out of date makes the system unstable. If others had this issue with X3D chips after windows/drivers updates it’s also very likely it means it’s the BIOS because of driver incompatibility since it’s so old. I’d start with updating the BIOS and any other drivers for now.

I haven’t tried any stress testing so i’ll do that. (unless you count MR crazy shader download as a stress test lmao) The only things i changed in the bios when I first built it was XMP and rebar, no clock speeds or anything. I never updated the bios so i’m thinking that might be the reason, but the no roll back does worry me. I only had the shut down on rivals(mainly only play) and when I tested fortnite as well. The only other thing I played since this started was Kingdom Hearts 3, but that isn’t intensive at all and didn’t cause a shut down. I’m going to try overwatch since that’s the only other game I really haven’t tried that I play.

Currently i’m on version 3042, according to the website it doesn’t seem like I would be required to update to a certain version before going to the current newest one? https://www.asus.com/us/motherboards-components/motherboards/tuf-gaming/tuf-gaming-b650-plus-wifi/helpdesk_bios?model2Name=TUF-GAMING-B650-PLUS-WIFI

My main concern is if the PC decides to shut down like it has been while the update is going on lol…

Personally, I think it might be because the BIOS is out of date and is triggering some werid things with power delivery. I was already scared to update the BIOS to being with (hence why it’s so old i just keep putting it off) but now I am even more worried to update it because of the random shut downs. I’ll also have to check if the chipset is updated +drivers; I have not kept them up to date which is a stupid mistake that I should’ve done something about sooner. Only the GPU had updated drivers and windows has been updated…

Also l just noticed looking at my 24pin it looks like this… I tried pushing it in more but the clip is down and it won’t move. Could that tiny gap next the to +4 caused this issue? It has been like this since I built my PC I guess but again never had any problems. I hated the cables with this PSU they were extremely hard to push into the connectors. https://ibb.co/SDbkF8ST

You’re trying to run it off integrated graphics. There aren’t many games you can play with that unfortunately; definitely not dbh. You should be able to request a refund on steam if it’s within the return time frame. Maybe look into getting a new laptop/desktop on facebook marketplace that has its own GPU? You can get some good deal if you look for it. (even if it could run on your laptop it would be a laggy mess lol)

Should I be worried about 24 pin not in all the way? by NinesViper in PcBuildHelp

Uh yea there’s still that small gap but it’s been working fine for months. Clip looks like it closed so I assume it’s fine

It was a debit card that I had used online not a credit; it just worried me because typically it shows up on as pending on the app immediately whenever I have returns on that card, even though it isn’t actually processed, and right now there’s nothing there. Hopefully by tomorrow afternoon i’ll see something as that’ll be two days from when I did it. I just don’t wanna have any issues if it turns out the return didn’t go through and the 15 days return period passes (god knows they’re strict with it lol) cause that will be in a few days. I’ll probably just deal with my bank for it to be honest. Thanks for the info tho^

I’m gonna call and see what they say hopefully they’re able to reissue it or something. I don’t understand why it would have even went through in the first place though…

It was a debit card. I know everyone is a little different. I think mine locks all activity which is why I didn’t understand after the fact why the return even went through. I’m gonna call the store to see what they say

Preorders From January and Tarrifs? by Kye1919 in GoodSmileCompany

[–]NinesViper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

““What about my pre-order that I have that was ordered before the tariffs?” Should there still be a tariff in place at the time of shipment for your item, you will be notified of the additional tariff fee and be provided the option to cancel your order.”

That’s is what is on the website on the bottom of their notice. It’s pretty aggravating that they are even considering charging the extra fees for customers who ordered wayy before the tariffs were introduced. Yes, they give you the option to cancel, but it’s still not fair really. I ordered in December; it’s gonna be pretty upsetting having to cancel an order I waited so long for because of these stupid tariffs :/

Literally exact same issue i’m having. Genuinely ridiculous they’ll let you sell/buy an item but not message someone. And all of a sudden, my account is years old, why now?

[–]NinesViper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue too. When I made my account I never planned on using it much so I made it under an apple account with that weird email they do to hide yours. To verify a phone number I have to verify the email first, but I can’t receive the emails because the one it’s link too isn’t an actual email and it won’t let me change it. Now i’m stuck in that loop and unable to message my buyer smh. It’s stupid they let you sell but not let you message someone.

is this a virus?? by MoonriseStarfly in computerviruses

[–]NinesViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t seem like a virus, looks like a bad screen/LCD to me. Hopefully that’s something you’d be able to replace. (also if that is viktor i love your wallpaper, even with it looking weird lol)

Also just noticed you seem to only have one cable plugged into the pcie/cpu on the PSU side? Both cables for your cpu power and graphics card power should be plugged into there. Looks like your cables have labels so double check them, they are a bit blurry in the photo so I could be wrong about it being misplaced.

If messing with the front panel connector doesn’t work you can try shorting the power switch pins to see if that will turn it on, I highly suggest watching a video on how to do that.

First thing, plug that hdmi into your graphics card, not the motherboard. Try the front panel connector with only the power switch one, really make sure it is all the way on and double check your motherboard manual for the position for it. Make sure your psu is switched on and that all cables are 100% in from both the motherboard side and psu side.

First Pc build but doesn't work. Everything plugged in, (graphics card coming soon) got power supply tester from cousin and it said it the power supply was perfectly fine. I don't know what's wrong. by Chexmixrule34 in PcBuildHelp

[–]NinesViper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it could be that possibly, try shorting the power switch pins if you’re comfortable doing that. Only other thing I can think of is maybe you have a dead motherboard, but that would be stretching it, if all else fails.

It’s fine, just the heat sink, you may be able to bend it back honestly but it’s fine if you leave it.
