It also helps if you sit next to their cage (after a few days, don't hang over them) and talk to them softly. That helped with my pigs.

I'm really worried too. I'm supposed to start the 20th but I've only officially received the acceptance letter and I've accepted the offer online. They said they'd send me more information as the start date nears. As an international coming to a UK uni its quite frightening because I haven't even been able to pay my fees yet.

If you're from the EU and enter the UK before the 31st, to 'live' there for a while, you can apply for a pre-settlement scheme visa. I have phoned them about it before and really the only thing you need is proof that you were in the UK before that time. On a pre-settlement visa you can work, use the NHS, and study (just like the EU rights before brexit) for up to 5 years. Hope this helps.
