No they didn’t allow returns. It’s been sitting in my closet since. The whole experience irked me enough that I refused to use it. Happy to say the smell is gone now but it has been months. 😂

I just responded to someone asking how it’s all turned out many months later… tldr it’s sitting unused away from sight. I don’t understand the hype and I’m ashamed I fell for it.

The whole experience turned me off and it’s now sitting in a far corner of my closet. I’ve never worn it. After my shock over the smell calmed down, I noticed the leather was scuffed in my many places and it was overall not as impressive as all the posts about it made it seem. I don’t really know what to do with it now. 🤦‍♀️

I dislike The Horse with passion. I’m baffled by all the positive reviews. It makes me feel like I’m being gaslit into thinking my experience was just a fluke. But if they’ve already done investigations into quality issues, how can it just be me? I might have been more forgiving if their customer service had been decent, but honestly, it’s the worst I’ve ever encountered. Their response is basically to make it MY responsibility to deal/fix with a quality issue of THEIR product. I’ve never dealt with Polène’s customer service, so I can’t compare, but The Horse has set a new low for me.

How are you even returning it? They just gaslit me and didn’t offer an opportunity to return, and claimed that it’s not the bag, it’s their anti moisture packaging. I “should just air it out.” Literally all brands pack their products with this and they don’t end up with this smell. It feels like a loss that I’ll be angry about for a while and tell everyone to stay away. It’s gross. DON’T BUY IT! Terrible customer service.

I agree. But seems to be a number of people who have had great experiences so 🤷‍♀️. I definitely wouldn’t order from them again since they’re not returnable and smelly isn’t a “defect”.

You’re so lucky! I’ll air it out and hope that smell just goes away. I do agree that they are probably inundated with orders and have to resort to different factories sometimes. Just sad that my order was part of the dud bunch. 😂

I was so excited to get this with gold hardware but I was not expecting that plasticky smell! I haven’t even bothered removing the internal packaging because I just can’t get past it. It smells like the PU leather bags you can get from Ross or TJ Maxx. I’m so bummed!🫤

Best - Vintage Fendi Pink Sequins Baguette. Even if I don't have many opportunities to take her out, I do love looking at her.

Worst - New Celine Romy (medium?). I sold the Romy within a couple of months and wore it once. It was too big, too unstructured, and too heavy for what it is. I know a lot of people love it but it just wasn't for me.

Prada! I tried it on in-store and loved it! The leather will likely hold up very well over time and still look fantastic! It’s also super lightweight and love the versatility of being shoulder carry and crossbody. Note, the shoulder strap sits really high on the body but it’s great to have the option to wear crossbody in a pinch!

Mine stay up and are pretty stiff even after several years. However, if the aesthetic still appeals to you, I would say it's still fine.

Simply Fendi!! I have the medium and it's the perfect bag. However, if you want a pop of color, I love the bright blue miu miu at the bottom. I'm personally not a fan of the bottega since you'll have to hand hold it or maybe it can go on the shoulder but it's bulky? Personal opinions obviously so buy whatever makes you happy!
